Several reasons why today is fabulous!
1. It is Ms. tangleofthorns' birthday! I, uh, I think I may still owe you fic from last year.
2. What little time I had left over after school, LJ, and Myspace/Facebook has now officially been filled by del.icio.us. It has also reinforced my intense love for Firefox.
3. I read THE BEST spoiler for an upcoming episode of Battlestar Galactica! The. best. permissionslip knows what I mean.
4. I spent my downtime between classes vaguely plotting the history of the Colonial government, since my favorite episode ("Colonial Day"!) inadvertantly posits the idea that some of our more older characters may remember a time before the existance of a unified Colonial government. There really was no particular reason to do this - vaguely, I want to write fic about the origins of the Cylons and the first Cylon war, but I doubt that's going actually happen in the near future. Also, it sort of centers itself around Tom Zarek. I don't really know how that happened.
5. As a result, I made a fantastic revelation about Laura Roslin (fantastic, at least, in my own humble opinion).
Basically, her own personal world ended on the same day that the actual world did. 189 days ago, she found out that she had terminal breast cancer, she effectively lost her job to a cause that she figured was worth it (I don't THINK she was trying to get herself fired, since she told Adar she was going to fight like hell when she got back from Galactica), and to top it all off, she's probably lost her illicit boyfriend, too... so basically, this is supposed to be the point where Laura Roslin just GIVES UP (and maybe she already had started to). Except everyone blows up! So she's stuck in her ex-boyfriend's job!
I don't know, I'm sure this all seems REALLY OBVIOUS, but it just sort of struck me. Her and Jack Bauer are neck-and-neck for the "Longest Day of My Life" Award
