A quick lesson in Jersey grammar: When we get off the Parkway and drive to Ocean City, this is called going to the shore. When we walk two blocks from our house to the place where the waves crash on the sand, this is called going to the beach.
I think the best part about this week was sitting on the beach and rolling over ocassionally to send permissionslip texts with directions to various stores in NYC.
I think my accent has gotten worse after Jersey Emersion Shock Therapy a week in Ocean City.
When a little voice inside your head says, "You know, you might be slightly tan, but the reason you're not deliciously caramel is because you put on too much sunblock," please do not then try to prove the voice wrong by opting against the sunblock for an entire day. Just, you know, yeah.
Did you know that there is actually something called POLISH Water Ice? Seriously! It's creamy and omg it's POLISH.
I read three books this week. THREE! For the record: Solaris (again), The Decipherment of Linear B, and a trashy beach book because I didn't actually think I could finish one book in a week, much less two.
