I need another "geek" icon, because this one just gets way too much use.

Because I am a complete genius and quite deserving of my status as an English mjaor, I have just now made the connection between Don Quixote and "quixotic."

pronunciation musings: How come Quixote is key-oh-tay, but quixotic is quiks-ah-tik? Shouldn't it, logically, be key-oh-tik? Or is (American) English just delightfully retarded like that? This bothered me in my 18th Century Womens Lit class, too, because my prof kept pronouncing The Female Quixote as quiks-it. No joke. But she'd pronounce Quixote properly when she was mentioned the novel it was based on. WHAT THE HELL. (I almost raised my hand and asked about this, but I hadn't yet received an A on my paper and didn't want to make her mad.) /geek

Um. It's possible that I'm contemplating writing Cylon backstory. Except for the part where I blatantly rip off The Terminator, because you know, THAT'S certainly some QUALITY source material right there. *weirdedout!!!*

geeeeeeek
