I wonder if anyone will ever talk to me after this post.

Is it lame that, in the process of being obsessive and thus trying to come up with a premise/structure/backstory for this Adama/Roslin idea that I've been toying with... I sort of invented a rather complicated holiday for the BSG-verse?

You'll probably want to skip this if you want to not be bored to tears with how much of a life I really don't have. Hi, it's 3AM. )

outside the lines, battlestar galactica

Nah. We stalk you too much not to notice.

I like what you're doing with the application of classical history to the BSG universe. There's always a danger when fic authors try to do this, to invent ceremonies and practices. Typically there's too much of a gloss over things; things are made heavy and sentimental. I remember a BSG fic that brought in elements of Wicca which... well... it was dripping with a soft-focus Lifetime sense of melodrama that was... yeah. Not so much with the coolness.

(God, I talk too much.) Anyway, what I mean to say is that you have a spareness and honesty in the emotions of your fic that I like. Rock on with the Panathanaia idea. And yeah, dude, write a fic. I expect drunkenness and nostalgia and, oh, I don't know, the inappropriate baring of tits.

Peace out.

I have not read your post yet. I am commenting through squinty-eyes so I don't see anything important. I need to know if I'm going to get spoiled beyond episode three of the mini before I can read this. Am I?

The ONLY spoiler that exists in the entire thing is a minor, minor, minor one for 1x11... which only says that an Independence Day-type holiday called "Colonial Day" exists. In other words? You're good to read.

I think this ranks up there with the "hey, let's chart all mentions of Rambaldi!" idea I had.
