Okay, seriously, me and Katie Sachkoff need to go shopping and go to Starbucks and generally be the bestest friends EVAH. Raised on science fiction! STAR TREK!! She sat by the phone with a bottle of Diet Coke and one of Jack Daniels! She's convinced Kara and Lee are going to do teh sex!

I love The Heartbeats. Always reminds me of long roadtrips to the Midwest, in a good way. One of the best memories I have is my mom and I literally BELTING the lyrics to "Hollywood Dream" on one such trip. I knew all the words to this entire album when I was ten, and I've never considered that this might technically be country music (it's probably more bluegrass, but still).

FANFIC AUTHOR'S APPRECIATION WEEK (March 6 through March 13):
Post to your LJ each day at least one of your favorite fanfic authors and why you love them, their work, and why they need more appreciation.
MARCH 6:
tangleofthorns Six Places We May Have Met (West Wing, CJ/Toby)
Two Rooms At the End of the World (West Wing, CJ/Toby)
I couldn't decide which one I loved more, so I picked both, because THESE are two of the first things I ever read when I stumbled late into The West Wing. Therefore, CJ and Toby in these two stories ARE my CJ and Toby. End of story. I aspire to be a writer like you, Luna. I do, I do.
MARCH 7:
mazily The Sky is Flesh (Farscape, Aeryn post-"Bad Timing")
Did you know I read this story when I only had a avgue inkling that there was this guy named John and a women/alien/not named Aeryn and Aeryn liked to shoot things and John died (kind of) and she was going to have a baby. That's all I knew. So of course I didn't get half of this the first time I read it... and I loved it anyway. I remember thinking about the line "Aeryn calls it Child. Small One. Thing. It." the first time I saw the pilot. I reread it often, too.
