Ugh, time eaters!!

Ah, I have been trying to get back into the swing of things online after the mighty exams and guess what happened. I don’t write at all, when I have all the time of the world and why. Because I create myself distractions. I seem to have an inborn talent to stall thing and then moan why I don’t get around to doing them. The famous phrase and last words of a writer to use his writing as a sacrifice to sloth is “I have the whole day to myself, why start now”. So here is a list of what distracts me, just so that I can see how bad my condition is as well for you to see for yourself.

1] Puzzle games… I know I have to be like either a 5 year old or a senior citizen with no knowledge of computers to spend your time with games from the “Jewel Quest” kind. Well since I do have a smaller sibling unit that needs time on the computer without getting corrupted I got her these and several dashes, which have proven quite addictive. Pretty colors and dazzling animations turn you a mindless zombie. I can just be like that for hours.

2] Reading. Sadly, I know now why writers do not read while writing, because they get too involved in other stories to write properly. So far January has brought some sour fruits in the basket so I haven’t noticed, but wow with a good title you tend to easily ignore your own work.

3] Reviewing. Whilst a very trendy and handy hobby to have around (I mean books for free. Books I could only look at as pictures have passed through my hands, which is like heaven for me) it gives me an analytical eye that is more suited to spotting my stupidity in earlier draft rather than being the passionate and emotional French-clad artist with ink smudges from leaking pens.

4] My computer… My biggest threat is my best tool at writing. I hate the irony of it all. But when you see the Internet and all those opportunities to misuse it for dirty agendas, the TV shows and movies downloaded and waiting, how can you not. Blasted.

See why I can’t write WORLD. I am reduced to a sad pathetic junkie on technology, but no one will tear me apart from my beloved Computra. No one!

life, randomness, me, blah, meh
