My darling concubines I am in a very good mood today, although some very dark and depressing events, which have happened with friends and relatives. I finished Chapter 14: Back to Basics aka Kill from behind the back, which means that I have one more chapter to finish "Forged in Blood" in its roughest draft ever. Chapter 15 is the hardest of the bunch for three reasons: 1) it's the last chapter, so it has to turn readers into mindless zombies craving for the pages of the next, if FIB gets adopted by a big NY publishing house (Dreaming is free buddy, so yes I want a great NY house); 2) I have a lot of action and killing and magic and hand to hand combat and when you mix that with a split personality protag, it gets kind of messy and 3) I have to work out some world building and explanations to it and tie the whole damn thing. Here is the next weird title for the chapter: Wanted... mostly as a corpse or in pieces. What do you think?
So here is the schedule. Once the last chapter ends and I want to take it sloooow, since I want it to be somewhat decent and I will write it in 1st person for the kicks of rewriting it later. September will be the month of major edits on the novel, where the beginning shall be rewritten and figure out some character growth here and there, put the seeds of the plots twists that actually occur, but never got started in the beginning and fix the dialogue, cause it sucks big time. Additional tasks would be to edit short stories and send them out + write the blasted post apocalyptic UF novella "Twisted". My web comic is based on the story and it's hard to work on it, when the novella is still not born. Not to mention that I need to refine my vocabulary and start that poetry book.
October will be the exclusive first read performed by my writing mentor and amazing Critique partner Leisa (Holler!!) and second major edits to refine what I have fixed further. Additional tasks include outlining my next novel project, which is a stand alone and has nothing to do with Crimson Sorceress series. It's called "Car Crash Dummy" and it will be bolder and darker and I basically will go into some taboos. I realize that perhaps there won't be an audience to want that book, but writing it would be my dirty little secret and satisfaction. And there is always other ways than big NY houses. "Clandestine Hearts" is still in the middle, so I will complete that.
November will be devoted to sending novel to amazing beta readers, who will be around twenty. I know it's way too much, but for God's sake, I have friends, who do literature and they want to read it. Plus I engaged an already published author to read it as well and some blog reviewers. Very, very cool and I am excited. Novella for the month will be "Tempest Feathers" and I will probably do some more editing on whatever lies in between and engage on my artist friend to make me covers for the novellas, when I publish with my e-book house.
December is the finer and final polishing after beta readers comments, but I hope I won't jump in and rewrite it way too many times and not change something big so that 2009 will be further writing on it. Final edits will be focused mainly on the beginning so that I can hook agents, although I hope my whole book is strong. Additional tasks would feature: Agent sampling data and compiling the list of who works with whom, wants what and in what format. Here I would mostly rely on friends, since I am on the ass of the world. The forth novella in the row would be "Whispered Prayers, Hidden Sanctuaries" and will happen in a new world totally, one I have spent a long time preparing but for a computer game project, which was too complex to create, so i would use it for writing epic fantasy or sword and sorcery. The kind I want to read. To top it off I will outline and add details and create characters for "Car Crash Dummy", which will be started at January.
January will be the start of agent hunting and starting the new novel, which I will write a lot faster hopefully and finish by May. Okay, this is my writing schedule for the last months of 2008 and the beginning of 2009. Wish me luck, cause I will mix social life, school, fiction and poetry! Yummy! Hahahah!
