So to what extent do you keep giving people the benefit of the doubt? Once? Twice? Always? I realized that you can only give people second chances if they are willing to change. It is disappointing to have people around you be as ignorant as they are while you continue to give them second chances. Well enough is enough. I can't do it any longer. It's hard enough to take a stand against people you don't know anything about but you shouldn't have to keep defending and protecting who you are against the people around you. I live in the 20th century in a multicultural country. Yet, it is sad to see people who continue to see you as solely the colour of your skin or the religous symbol you wear. No one can keep giving people the benefit of the doubt while all they do is judge people based on solely their exterieur. I will not accept any excuses for the stereotyping and ignorance from the people around me. Although everyone has had different upbringinngs, you are still apart of this society and country at large and cannot blame your upbringing for the ignorance you show others. One of my closests friends grew up in a tiny town homogenous town. However, after living with her for over 5 weeks in a city neither of us knew, our differences were never brought up. It was the similarities we shared as human beings that brought us closer together. So I'm finished with any racism, stereotyping and ignorance in our world. So next time just say,
