I'm glad you brought this up! I remember helping a gull that had tried to swallow a metal fish with two hooks hanging from it and a length of line. My friend and I were only able to catch it because it was so exhausted, but we got the hook caught by the side of its beak out and untangled it from the line and it flew off okay. I'd hate to think what would have happened if we hadn't come along, it wasn't like it would've been able to eat with that thing in its mouth. This is something that people going fishing need to be reminded of! Carelessness like that kills.
