(no subject)
So I haven't written in forever, things have been really busy, what with school kicking off and all.
On that note, I really like all of my classes, except of course economics, but what can you do right? AP music theory is simply wonderful. It's very thought provoking and very interesting, and it hasn't gotten impossible yet, although i'm sure that will follow. I have to do a project for first quarter, and mine is to try and teach myself the acoustic guitar, which i've wanted to do for a long time. I fiddles around with some chords this summer, but now i'm really seriousley going to try and learn. i've been spending alot of time on it latley, and I can play some simple tunes like kum by ah (sp?) and I can sorta play some away in a manger and other chrismassy stuff. I started with that cause I know how all of it goes like the back of my hand. It's harder than people think!! It takes a while to build up the strength in your fingers so you don't get that buzzy noise. It's like anything else I guess, you really have to work at it and pracitce to sound good. My ultimante goal is to write some music to one set of my lyrics and do that as a later project as well. It's really exciting to me, and challanging to, but I need a good chalenge, it will help to inspire me. Steph, and christine and who ever out there who plays guitar, props to you, it's not easy, If I can play even remotley close to you guys i'll be thrilled:)
Camerata is awesome, and very exciting:)I am REALLY looking forward to this year. We're doing some great tunes as well. It is def the best period by far in the day, I love it so much!!!!!!! (I know i'm a nerd haha)YAY for that!!!
AP english lit is AMAZING!!! It's so nice to be in an english class where people actually contribute to class conversations. It's very thought provoking, and definantly the kind of english enviornment I need to be in. Mr. McAullife is awesome too, he's very patient and non judgemental. I feel like I can voice my thoughts and opinions in front of him and he would never think that anyone sounded stupid. I'm sure it will be alot of work, it's not yet thought lol. But if it stays like this for the entire year, I don't think i'll mind as much. Oh and as a sidenote, i'm reading THE DAVINCI CODE and it's awesome, a must read, so go get it from the Library!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! hehe
It's a joy to have some free periods as well. I was one of those kids who never even had a lunch and now I have 2 and a half free periods every day, so that is amazing. It's nice to have downtime!!!! I really don't know how I dealt with 9 straight periods for the last 2 years! Oh and Players is very exciting too. It's nice to have my little brother there, I am really looking forward to this year partially because of that too, I mean it's nice ya know? So thats exciting. The fall one acts are comming up as well, really quickly too i might add, and I am also very excited and anticipating those as well! So it's off to a great start. I just made a guidance appt. For this thurs to talk about college and stuuuf. Tha's creeping up on us all so fast. i like need time to get adjusted to school and everything and college is like right under my nose, it's very scary, def not exciting at this point. I signed up for some of those college visit thingys at school, i'm going to the New Paltz one and the Potsdam one, so i'm looking forward to those. I'm working on audition stuff as well. Ahh it's so soon, it's so stressful and so all at once!
ok, so the last part of the entry I wote about an hr ago, and now i'm back from going to the library and the friggin coolest thing happened to me. I was talking to my friend who works at the Library while looking at movies, and she was like where are u looking for college and I was telling her how im seriousley into Potsdam for the Crane school, and the guy looking at tapes right next to me turns and goes, no way, I just graduated from there!!!!! Talk about coincidences, yay!!! so he was telling me how much he loved it and how prestigeous the program is there, so that got me even more phsyched, so now i'm like uber happy hehe. That made my day!!! neway, I just got out White Oleander, The Virgin Suicides, Tumbleweeds and Love Actually and i'm gonna go watch love Actually now I think, so i'll c u all later!!!!
