I suppose I should update my actual real life now.
We are so close to opening this center, I can SMELL it! I've been working about 25-30/week, so not completely full time.. but those hours are filled with everything from making sure we have all of the items in the room that we need, to working on the parent handbook, to perfecting the plan of operation (which is turned into the state licensing bureau in order for us to acquire an operational license).
The Board of Health came out yesterday to observe our kitchen, and we received our FIRST LICENSE.... FOOD SERVICE!!! :)
That was big hitch when it came to the full license, so now that we have that, we're (hopefully) a big step forward towards full licensing.
Today I spent 4 hours going over our plan of operation, making sure we met all of the requirements (anyone who's ever opened their own childcare facility, at least in Ohio, knows what we are going through!). I should make it clear that my boss had submitted the plan prior to my help, and when we met with licensing, she basically told him it was incomplete. So.. I've been working my arse off making sure we had everything (especially the parent handbook) complete... and those 4 hours I spent today were just for putting the finishing touches on. If it's not complete now, I don't know what else she will want..maybe a lock of my hair? lol
So... now we're tagging Monday as the day to resubmit the plan, and if it's approved, we will get our temporary operational license.
which means...
WE CAN FINALLY OPEN!!! :)
(and of course licensing comes back w/in 30 days of full function to assess us, and upon passing, will grant us a full license)... etc :)
So... here's hoping!!!
