Don't apologize for GINORMOUS comments!! I LOVE them!
I can see why you might feel accomplished. This is very good work. Thank you!! :D
Yes, It did feel "where on earth did that come from" but I never said it felt inaccurate or didn't make sense. Cause it did. I'm so glad it made sense! I was thinking and thinking about these boys and that theory just seemed to, I dunno, click into place. Glad to know it works for people outside of my head. :) I'll look out for more examples now. If you want to, feel free to come back and share them here anytime! I'd love your insights. :)
Exited because of some of the ways you explained stuff and how I have have never found them elsewhere You made me all kinds of happy. :D I didn't really know if any of my ideas would be revolutionary or new, because I haven't read a lot of other people's things (I got involved in the fandom kinda late), so your taking the time to tell me you hadn't found them elsewhere really made me feel like posting this was legitimate. Thank you. :)
About "Dandi" (I laughed because you asked and also because it's funny and clever..Heee!...and also because in some unusual and weird way "Dandi" feels like saying "Bambi"....weird right?) Yay and thank you! I was so hoping somebody else would appreciate that. :))) I didn't notice the sound similarity to Bambi, but, you're right, it's definitely there and Bambi is certainly a strange image to have in conjunction with Damon. XD
He started to care about her, maybe not love her, but care enough about her. I'm glad I'm not alone in that assertion! Andi wasn't just collateral damage when she died, she meant something.
The thing about the Damon Way of loving someone is that it's not really loving someone--at least to me, I completely understand if you disagree with that, kudos to you for doing so. :) It's just he does things like snapping little brothers' necks and force feeding her his blood and that's not really what love is to me, or anyway, not the way to manage it. I think that his way has the potential to evolve into something very beautiful and right, very much like love is really and truly supposed to be. No doubt he has ~feelings for Elena, I myself just hesitate to label them love. But again, that's just my perspective. And, I was thinking, based on your thoughts, that Damon kind of personifies knightly love (I may have read this somewhere else...I won't claim the idea is mine because I'm not sure it is). Knightly love being unrequited. In old English literature, it was the ultimate kind of love. But, again, it comes back to actions--in my head--and Damon's don't jive for me.
I get that as a Stelena shipper you might not want them to fall in love with each other, I totally get that. I don't even have anything against it, or you, if anything THIS SHOW taught us that people with differences can stick together against odds, so I guess you get what I'm trying to say.... I get you! I think the best thing in the world would be for all Delena and Stelena shippers to be best friends! Just because I ship something, doesn't mean you have to for us to get along and beautifully at that. :))) And, in light of that, can I add you as a friend? I love your attitude about this.
Oops, I ran out of room!daydreamblvr6September 22 2011, 23:22:05 UTC
Because if I love someone ans I know that I love that person with ALL my soul and body but unfortunately that loves not reciprocated, does it mean my love's not true? I may have used poor terminology when I was setting forth my argument there. True Love to me is 1) in caps and 2)the thing that leads to two people being married for years and years faithfully. Therefore, in my head, love can be true, but not be True Love. Aaaaaand there's more going on in my head about that, but it kinda confuses even me so I'm just gonna keep it to myself. XP But I think that I agree with this thought of yours: I think, that LOVE is an ultimate verb, it has different definitions and the most accurate one's the one, where both the person being loved and the person that's loving aren't taking unhealthy measures to profess or establish LOVE. at least to some extent. I think that has to be a key part of love, but maybe there's more to it. I dunno, I was pretty sure of my thoughts when I wrote this, but now you've given me a lot to think about. *^-^* And I'll certainly try to look at Damon and Elena in light of all of that.
Anyway, Nice review! Thank you! And your comment was really wonderful, thanks so much!
(I hope this reply with its obnoxious length isn't super annoying.)
