Persephone
As some of you may know, my eldest cat Persephone hasn't been doing well. Getting thinner and having a hard time breathing and so on.
My parents had her put down today. I knew it was coming. She was an old girl, and she was really sick. We'd figured it was her heart, which the vet confirmed. Frankly, there wasn't much we could do. Medicating her would likely have put her under enough stress to kill her. Even the other cats - who usually like to try and 'play' with her by chasing her about when they're bored - had been leaving her alone. I'll miss her. She was always a bit stand-offish and paranoid, but she was a real sweetheart. Plus, we've had her since I was small... and she outlived most of her five kittens.
Persy was a good girl, and a singularly smart cat. She will be missed.
