Don Chan Island, Vientiane, Lao PDRchanphenglewMarch 5 2010, 13:43:17 UTC
During the rainy season, the Mekong fills the channel under the bridge where the gardens are located. I have the location geotagged on the image in flickr. The whole island used to be a gigantic garden, where people grew vegetables and sold in several nearby markets. Then in 2004, the island was sold and a Korean company built a hotel.

what an awful impact that hotel must have on the local people! yet, this photo is beautiful. the bridge over the top [and a bidge like we're not too used to seeing in the more 'developed' countries]; and the contrast in colours.
