Reasoning
Ulquiorra steps into his room and closes the door. He is not hiding. Regardless of what Grimmjow thinks, he has no fear of fighting him-or any other of the Espada. Death does not scare him, though he certainly would not be the one to die in a fight against the mangy cat. If he were to battle against Grimmjow, the blue-haired fool would surely perish-of this he is certain. It is this fact, and not a fear of getting hurt, that makes him abstain from the fight.
It can all be explained in one word: Aizen. He lives to serve Aizen. There is nothing else on his agenda. Even though he loathes Grimmjow, Ulquiorra cannot deny that he is a powerful and valuable asset to Aizen’s army. If Grimmjow were to die, Aizen would end up losing one of his valuable Espada. A loss for the Arrancar at this time could end up tipping the scales in the Shinigami’s favor. This Ulquiorra cannot allow.
So, as much as he would love to put the loudmouth in his place, Ulquiorra refrains-for the sake of the one he serves. Sometimes this means avoiding Grimmjow as much as possible… because although he has nerves of steel, there is only so much taunting that Ulquiorra will take before raining down judgment. If Grimmjow wants to call it hiding... well, Ulquiorra will simply wait patiently until it is no longer necessary to keep the 6th Espada around.
