Summary: Only one thing could make today bright for Amy Dorrit.
Blue sky, and sun, and a soft wind blowing, created the sort of day that Little Dorrit loved best when she was walking upon the Iron Bridge. Yet today her step was something slower than usual; at the railing she leaned her head wearily upon her hand. Perhaps today had been harder even than her days normally were, for her vision of the clear blue day seemed tinged with gray.
A quick step sounded behind her.
“Little Dorrit!”
She started and turned to see Mr. Clennam approaching, and marveled that his smile should turn the whole day bright around her.
