this is lovely! I can definitely imagine this happening, Tony's eagerness to get home and realize who he was before Afghanistan by the unfinished projects in his workshop. excellent.

Thank you! I figure after being away for so long in such conditions, he would have been extremely eager for things to settle back into some semblance of normalcy. But at first, it must have seemed extremely strange and foreign and dated. Glad you enjoyed it! :)

Ohhh, I just sighed. That was perfect. The greatest way to welcome Tony home and fill in that space. I always wondered exactly how he must have felt, and you summed it up PERFECTLY. Beautiful.

Wow! Thanks so much for the very nice compliments!! I have to give credit here though: this fic was inspired by my dad's return(s) from the war a few years back. I asked him what he was thinking when he first arrived, and he noted many of the things above. So... this has always been a fic I wanted to write, because I always identify with this part of the movie; I'm glad I finally had a reason, and that it came across well!

Aww, thankies! ^^ IM1 really was and is just so incredible. Not that IM2 isn't awesome, too.

Honestly, what happened is that my heart got stolen by an incredibly handsome blue alien. *points at icon* He distracted me and my writing for a while, and still is quite the distraction, but... yes. I'm hoping to get Five Things up again soonish here. The sad thing is that of the three chapters left, 2 of them are and have been almost complete! Thank you for asking! :D

I haven't been reading much Iron Man fic lately, but I figured it was 700 words, give it a try. So glad that I did.

You did a very good job capturing the silence in Tony's head for anything other than thoughts of coming home.
