Brakes and stuff

Sooooo...

I am proud of myself for walking 3 days in a row.  Haven't been on a walking/running program in awhile and decided it was high time I got to wear some of the cuter smaller things in my closet.  Ended up on 2 walks today.  Took a 1.5 mile walk  this morning after I talked to the AllTune and Lube guy about the additiional cost for my brakes and then this afternoon I decided to walk and pick up my car.  That was 3.5 miles.  I'm still nasty sweaty.

Question:  would you pay 656.08 plus taxes for your brakes to be replaced?  I don't think I will thank you.  All I wanted was to replace the brake pads on my 2001 Toyota MR2 Spyder convertible.   He said I needed to replace the rotors and the rear disk and stuff.  Guys... my brakes aren't even squealing yet.  Hence why I wanted new brake pads - these are getting low - but aren't worn through.  One of our friends, Dustin who was at our wedding, is kindly going to look at my car tomorrow.

But shouldn't I be able to just get new brake pads?  Even if I had to get the whole brakes replaced - shouldn't that be around $300.  I just cannot fathom spending $700 dollars on brakes.
