The Golden Globes 2020

Jan 05, 2020 22:37

The Golden Globes Ambassadors his year were two of Pierce Brosnan sons, Paris and Dylan who didn't know what they were doing. It's like they fcuked off rehearsals.

The Globes are earlier than normal so it feels like this is the beginning of the end of awards season but it we still have The Critics Choice, The Spirit Awards, SAG-AFTRA Awards, The BAFTAs and the Oscars, with the NAACP awards being relegated to March for some reason.

Who had to endure Ricky Gervais' taunts to take home trophies?

Now on to the important part of any awards show:

Fave Male look.
Billy Porter in Alex Vinash

Fave Female Look.
Joey King in Iris Van Arpen
*GORGEOUS! Love the structure of it. And like Michelle Williams the pixie cut was a great choice.

Ana de Armas in Ralph & Russo

Roman Griffin Davis
**This is a Mr. Porter jacket that was part of the Kingsman collection.

**He should be in the last “Kingsman” as Eggsy's son.

Salma Hayek
**Her husband's family runs a fashion empire that owns Louis Vuitton and Gucci (which Salma is wearing) but she choose the most basic look. I say, more power to her. And also - if you got 'em, flaunt 'em.

*I guess that's Patricia Arquette's motto, as well.

Zoey Deutch in Fendi
**I think she's a plain as plain comes. Tapoica vanilla milquetoast shake, but this is a great look on her.

Zhao Shuzhen

Christopher Abbott
**Cordoury is of the devil, I get it, but for some reason I love this. It's unique. You could likely hear him coming a mile away, but it's unique.

Taika Waititi
**He's just so dashing.

**Last year Taika was sat at the same table as Armie Hammer.

**2019 saw Armie working with Taika with a small role in his next film, “Next Goal Wins” starring Michael Fassbender.

Wesley Snipes
*I love a man who isn't afraid of wearing bold colors.

Lulu Wang (Director, THE FAREWELL

Beanie Feldstein in Oscar de la Renta
**The color, design and head adornment is perfection.

Gwyneth Paltrow in Fendi
**Go big or go home, I say.

*Image of the back.

Cate Blanchett in Mary Katrantzu

Jodie Comer in Mary Katrantzu
**Love the neckline and the color. I don't love the pairing of a yellow purse and pink shoe.

**There were others not so fond of the ensemble.

Olivia Colman (and her THE CROWN costar Tobias Menzies) in Elizabeth Wickstead

Helen Mirren in Dior
*Love the color and the draping.

Phoebe Waller-Bridge (with FLEABAG costar Sian Clifford) in Ralph 8 Russo
*No one can really go wrong with a smart suit.

Da'Vine Joy Randolph

Kerry Washington in Altuzarra

Ray Romano

Tony Shahloub

Jennifer Lopez in Valentino
**It looks like she found this at the bottom of the Christmas clearance bin at the Dollar Store.

Thomasin McKenzie (JoJo Rabbit, The King

Andrew Scott

Kirsten Dunst (with husband Jesse Plemons) in Rodarte

**Kiki and her “Bring It On” costar Gabrielle Union both did campaigns for Rodarte in 2019, bringing about his exchange.

Dakota Fanning in Dior

**I take it that she likes romantic looks but this makes her look like a child. It reminds me of the SNL sketches where Amy Poehler would play the precocious Dakota. Lady, you're Instagramming pictures like this. Age up your look.

Cynthia Erivo in Thom Brown

Kaitlyn Dever in Valentino

Natasha Lyonne in Moschino

Rachel Weisz

Greta Gerwig (with partner Noah Baumbach) in Proenza Schuler

Sofia Vergara in Dolce & Gabbana

Lauren Graham and Peter Krause

Kit Harington and Rose Leslie

Anna Paquin and Stephen Moyer

Rachel Bilson and Bill Hader
*Making it red carpet official.

Ellen Degeners and Portia de Rossi

Sacha Baron Cohen and Ilsa Fisher

Reese Witherspoon in Roland Mouret

Chris Evans

Zoe Kravitz in Saint Laurent

**Zoe got married in July but she has only just revealed her wedding pictures. I love this one of her family leading her to her fiance Karl Glusman.

Rooney Mara in Givenchy

**Her fiance Joaquin Phoenix gassing her up!

Lucy Boynton in Louis Vuitton

Gillian Anderson

Bel Powley

Taron Egerton

**Meeting Joaquin

Margot Robbie

Saoirse Ronan in Celine

Josh O'Connor
**I love the Teddy Boy look.

Nicholas Braun

Janina Gavankar

Ansel Elgort

*Big dick Ansel...and I'm not talking about his schlong, although..

**He did a sponsored post for a 15k a night resort and he choose this pose with his fiancee.

Tiffany Haddish

Glenn Close

Ramy Youssef

Barry Jenkins in Thom Browne

Margaret Qualley in Chanel

Christina Applegate

ScarJo (with fiance SNL's Colin Jost) in Vera Wang

Elton John and David Furnish

Kathy Bates

Shaleine Woodley in Balmain

Julia Butters

Joe Alwyn

Karamo Brown

Adam Driver (with wife Joanne Tucker

Mark Duplass

Dexter Fletcher

**I was hoping Dex/Rocketman would win in the Comedy/Musical category. It would've been nice for him to have a film solely his win. BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY won big last year but he only worked on it for 3 weeks taking over for the fired Bryan Singer. ROCKETMAN is a film that he championed for a long time. Also, it would've been a sweet grace note for the bittersweet year he's had. He had great success with ROCKETMAN but lost his brother Graham, who, like Dexter was also an actor/director.

Naomi Watts

Charlize Theron in Dior

Kate McKinnon

Taylor Swift in Eto

Awkwafina in Dior
