Thanks so much for this! I always appreciate your insights into movies, and the wonderful tidbits of news and knowledge you share with them.

Thank you!

I still say Tom was dressed up as Bodhi when he wore that Reagan mask for Halloween.

I bloody hope that was the reason LOL! Or maybe he got up to some debauchery in the mask making it even ironic.

I enjoyed the Star Wars movie quite a bit. It's been years since I saw the original trilogy, and I never saw the prequels, so I mostly took it on its own merits. I'm sure 90% of the easter eggs went right over my head, although I did thrill at the first sight of the Millennium Falcon.

It's been ages and I only remember snippets. The franchise looms large in pop culture but there's a lot I don't know/remember. I've been watching Youtube TFA Easter Eggs vids and I think had I known those I would've really loved it. But I loved Ridley and Boyega. They were so much fun.

I have a friend who is, and he's going broke buying toys and books and action figures.

I'm seeing SW:TFA merchandise everywhere. And I fall into poseur mode really quickly so I had to refrain from buying the SW:TFA Trident gum I saw today.

I like Alexandra Daddario a lot. She's weird and funny and doesn't take herself too seriously. I want her to do a press tour for The Choice with Tom. Ben and Teresa can do the Sappy Couple tour with Nicholas Sparks, and Tom and Alex can do the Unbelievable Rejects tour and play the whole thing for laughs.

I hope so. I want him to do the junket and I think they'd really have fun together. I love Ross Katz's hustle. All of his tweets are "See The Choice, Tom Welling gives a great performance" and the studio's tweets are nothing but Ben and Teresa.

I liked the quiet but unwavering determination Liev Schreiber gave his character, and the careful way the film differentiated between the Church as an organization and the people of faith who make up the Catholic religion. My dad was a 100% Irish Catholic from back east, and they got that community exactly right.

I think they did a remarkable job of balancing it all out. I think they showed just about every side.

I have enjoyed every performance I have ever seen from Michael B. Jordan. I even liked him in That Awkward Moment, which was just awful (I still can't believe they tried to rip off the ending of 17 Again, what a mess of a movie).

Both films coasted on Efron's body. He better keep that going because if his body falls off he might as well sign up for a reality show.

BTW, do you have any idea if Tom might have more than a script commitment for his new series? The Deadline story didn't specify, but I wondered if having Tom attached would make a difference at all. I count something like 30 drama shows in development at CBS, so I'm trying to figure out what the chances are of us actually seeing Tom back on TV.

Edited to add: Al Gough just tweeted that Tom is shooting a pilot, but I don't know if he knows that, or if he's just assuming that from the Deadline story.

I don't know. Al is likely just going by the story. If there was a straight to series commitment they would've said so when the press release went out because they would've had to staff up their writing room and start banging out a plan and script for the season. I think news should be coming shortly on casting because pilot season is fast approaching. I know they've already given or straight to series commitments to 2 series (a Kevin James one and one from Spielberg. And that makes sense because it's Spielberg and Kevin James' "King of Queens" was on CBS forever). Now if Tom had Greg Berlanti as an EP on the show I think they would've gotten a straight to series commitment because he and Shonda Rhimes are killing it on TV.

Tom's Halloween costumes seem to consist of a mask that completely hides his identity and whatever outfit he has handy. With that Reagan mask he wore the tux from Parkland's Venice premiere. :)

Ross Katz has said some intriguing things about Tom! He's done a good job of making me look forward to a movie I had serious reservations about. The best thing about Tom's character is that Sparks didn't write him. He barely got a mention in the book, but was fleshed out for the movie.

I didn't expect Tom to get a straight to series commitment, but I was hoping he might already have the green light for a pilot. I'm interested to see what a show starring Tom and produced primarily by Tom's company looks like, we haven't had that combo before.
