QAF Alums, SV Alums, Reunions...
The end of 2014 and these early days of 2015 have been full of ups and downs.
At the tail end of the year and early days we have lost Donna Douglas who played Elly May Clampett of “The Beverly Hillbillies”, voiceover actress Christine Cavanaugh who voiced Chuckie on “Rugrats” and Dexter on “Dexter’s Laboratory” among many other characters, actor and prolific voiceover actor Edward Herrmann, singer Joe Cocker and ESPN sportscaster Stuart Scott. Since I don’t watch sports my love for Scott (and his ESPN colleague Rich Eisen) stemmed from his appearances on VH-1’s “I Love the….” series.
But there has been happiness.
People are getting engaged, married and having babies all over the place.

*Cameron Diaz married singer Benji Madden on January 5th. Lance Bance and Michael Turchin wed. Elton John and his partner of 21 years, co-father of two children David Furnish wed (they entered into a civil partnership in 2005). Sofia Vergara and Joe Maganiello are engaged. Stephen Fry and his 27-year old boyfriend are allegedly engaged. Lady Gaga and Taylor Kinney are possibly engaged or married. Gaga posted a picture of her dog wearing a veil and captioned that it was the happiest day of her life. She later took the picture down and she and Taylor have been seen wearing matching rings. Another maybe-married couple are Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis. Ashton posted a picture of them and signed it “The Kutchers”. Reportedly engaged are Charlize Theron and Sean Penn. Allison Pill of “The Newsroom” became engaged to Joshua Leonard (“If I Stay”), Benjamin Walker (“Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter”) and Kaya Scodelario (“The Maze Runner”) are engaged.
Blake Lively gave birth to a son; Zoe Saldana gave birth to twin boys Cy and Bowie, Alicia Keys and Swizz Beatz welcomed second son Genesis, Kiera Knightley, Ashlee Simpson (recently married to actor Evan Ross (son of Diana) is expecting her second child, Hilaria and Alec Baldwin are expecting their second child. Rumor is that Bendydick Cucumbersquash’s fiancé Sophie is pregnant.
~ “Queer as Folk” was my first fandom so I’m still invested in the actors even though I don’t follow them as closely as I did, so I’m very thrilled that Michelle Clunie gave birth to a baby boy, fathered by Bryan Singer.

*Scott Lowell is costarring alongside Bradley Cooper in “The Elephant Man” on Broadway. The show broke even in seven weeks and became the first show to gross $1 million in one week.

*Thea Gill is also doing theater. She has either just ended or is still in the midst of “Gaslight” in Canada.
*Robert Gant is still working. He had a recurring role on “Young and the Restless”.
He also appears in a indie film featuring other soap actors like Hilary B. Smith (formerly of “One Life to Live”), Dan Gauthier and Crystal Chappelle.
I’ve seen nothing to substantiate it but I heard that he was in a relationship with his former Showtime boos, now NBC honcho Bob Greenblatt.
*Hal Sparks is still doing his thing. He’s a commentator on various cable news shows, does podcasts and is starring in a Disney show “Lab Rats” which is in its third season. I watched one of my favorite Michael and Ben scenes on Youtube and there were comments from people who were fans of his from “LabRats”. Needless to say they were stunned at what their childhood fave was getting up to on QAF.

Gale has projects cooking, like a role in Scott’s webseries about adoption (along with Sharon Gless) whenever that is done.
More importantly he still has fans arguing about if he and Randy are sleeping together, how Gale’s girlfriend is crazy (another one, not the one he had the restraining order against) and how Randy’s boyfriend is a loser because he doesn’t realize that Gale and Randy belong together.

created a limited edition shirt where the proceeds went to Cystic Fibrosis research.
A cause near and dear to JR’s heart since his oldest niece was diagnosed with it.

~Former “Teen Wolf”er and soon to be “The Leftovers” costar (reportedly S2 will focus on the family more than the other town folks) Charlie Carver will appear in James Franco’s film “I Am Michael”.
In a bit of Six Degrees of Separation, “I Am Michael” is based on the true story of Michael Glatze a gay man and gay activist who denounces homosexuality and becomes a pastor. Glatze was the co-founder of XY Magazine, the magazine former “Teen Wolf”actor Colton Haynes and his then boyfriend appeared in. It’s those pictures that Colton’s lawyers tried to have scrubbed from the interwebs calling the pictures disgusting and “child p.or.nography since Colton was 17 at the time.
