Thanks for the report on the BITD screening - so glad you got to go (and got a hug again!) And meet a founding member of Leo's pussy posse (Jay R!)

Rosenbaum definitely put all of his eggs in one basket in case he wouldn’t get a chance to make his own film again so dumping true sentiment amongst the baser humor was odd
I did wonder if the baser humor (ie, the Principal character) dated back to the first draft 10 years ago and the gentler and more realistic scenes were rewritten more recently? I think his strength is writing the more heartfelt stuff. (And I really did love that Morena wasn't a "girl who waited." She got on with her life.)

He gave me a one-armed hug and said, “Hey”. Now I’m thinking, “Is he mistaking me for someone?” But that’s just how he was with people.
He's got a good memory for faces though so you might be in his visual databank after going to a few premieres!

I went into the lobby and there was Michael’s life partner Chris assuming the position-leaning against the wall with his phone in hand. Looking like the man who knew he lost his partner to another. That “another” being Isaiah. Poor Chris having to hear about Michael and Isaiah’s meet-cute all over again.
Isaiah is lovely but Chris can never be replaced, I won't accept it! (I wish Chris would come back & bump that little hussy Jon Heder from his role as Michael's Con Companion.)

That was a night of high quality hugging for you: Jay, Isaiah and Rosey all in one night: wow!

Re. Monuments Men: it's a shame Clooney couldn't get the tone right, it's a fascinating topic. There's an interesting book called "The Hare with Amber Eyes" that looks at art theft from the point of view of one family. The tone begins as clinical but by the end, I was crying.

Great choice of songs! That's my favourite Lemonheads song. I miss back when Weezer were fresh & surprising.

Here's my current favourite song. "Funeral" by Fast Romantics. Music starts at 0.55:

I never knew that! LOL! At the time IMO he could've pulled more tail than Leo. I never got Leo's appeal but Jay R's? Definitely. And he definitely got more than Tobey Maguire.

That's a great point. I bet that's it.

Me too. Initially I thought that Len and his wife's reaction to Jim and Lori came out of nowhere and while I still think it was too extreme (it's not like he treated Lori badly he just couldn't manage a long distance relationship) I think they both read his intent better than he did. He was dissatisfied with his life and he wanted things to go back as they were even if it meant trying to undue her life with Clark.

Did you read in one of the numerous interview's Rosenbaum gave for the film that he said he met Morena through his ex-girlfriend. I guess that answers the Laura V relationship question.

He's got a good memory for faces though so you might be in his visual databank after going to a few premieres!

He's like Sherlock!

Chris knows that while there may be other he's the one Rosenbaum will keep coming back to.

I was so giddy from the night that when I finally came down I came down hard. I had a good night's sleep which is unusual when I have to travel the next day.

Thanks for the link. I have to read that. I'm really interested in this history now.

Me too! I remember going to a Weezer concert and thinking that no one could top them. Their later work was boring to me.

Thanks for the song! I loved it. I'm always looking for new music.

Oh and my terribly short, terribly shot bit of footage from Michael's intro.
