~I don’t know why rappers just don’t release a clean version and an explicit version. I love this song but it gets so raunchy that it’s not like I can play it in mixed company.
I Luv This Sh*t-August Alsina ft. Trey Songz and Chris Brown (Explicit) *The radio version with the explicit bits blanked out. So ridiculous that they just don’t make two versions!!
I Luv This Sh*t-August Alsina ft. Trey Songz and Chris Brown (Radio Edit) ~Is there nothing that Kings of Leon can’t do? Their own music is fantastic but so are their covers.
Dancing on My Own (Robyn cover)-Kings of Leon ~M83 is just one man Anthony Gonzalez and largely his music is more prog electronica. But when he did the score for the film “Oblivion” he branched out the sound. He wanted to just go by Anthony Gonzalez but the studio wanted to promote M83 so I was expecting an M83 but was pleasantly surprised by this soaring ballad
Oblivion-M83 ft. Susanne Sundfor ~

~I’m not a fan of Christmas. It guts me that as soon as Thanksgiving is over Christmas and its music is being shoved down my throat. But there are exceptions. You can’t go wrong with Mariah Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas is You” or Darlene Love’s “All Alone on Christmas” or U2 “Christmas, Baby Please Come Home”. There are two of my new faves.
O, Holy Night-Richard Marx *An electronica version of the Nutcracker Suite.
Nutcracker-Operatica ~These two songs are from “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire” soundtrack. Like the spirit of Katniss in “Catching Fire” these songs represent her fire and her growing wrath against the capital (I love the line “darkness becomes me” in “Silhouettes”.
Silhouettes-Monsters and Men Another Monsters and Men offering.
King and Lionheart-Monsters and Men *She’s worked with ~Zero 7, David Guetta and now Diplo- Sia is committed to matching her vocal prowess with the electronica/djing community and it’s a great marriage.
Elastic Heart-Sia ft. Weeknd and Diplo ~Another soundtrack song. This one from “Despicable Me 2” for which Pharrell Williams did two tracks. Both are great but this is my favorite. The Doo-Wop inspired.
A Cloud Away-Pharrell Williams ~Ed Sheeran’s song for “The Hobbit: The Desoluation of Smaug” which perfectly sets the mood of the film. It conveys the portent of doom that could await the dwarves and Bilbo but even in the face of this danger they will proudly accept their fate.
I See Fire-Ed Sheeran ~Other than film I discover a lot of songs through TV. Really, if it wasn’t for the CW especially I would be missing out on a lot of music.
*I’m big on neo-folk music and Southern rock. This is a bit of both.
Second Child, Restless Child-The Oh Hellos (Heard on “Hart of Dixie”
*
Grow Old-The Naked and the Famous (Heard on “The Originals”)
*
Everyone’s Gonna Get High-Grouplove (Heard on “Girls”)
*The gentlest I’ve ever heard Christina. I’m so used to her using her big voice to hear her scale it way back for this quiet ballad was a real surprise.
A Great Big World-A Great Big World ft. Christina Aguilera (Heard on an NBC advert)
*Foot stomping honky tonk kind of song.
Bartholomew-Silent Comedy (Heard on “Hart of Dixie” IIRC)
*I love the slide guitar on this song. It’s just a really cozy kind of song.
Wild Country-Wake Owl ~For the Lulz
I actually read a music critic rip apart The Lonely Island’s (Andy Samberg, Jorma Taccone and Akiva Schaffer) latest cd because it wasn’t funny enough. I think TLI has always been better than they needed to be. Leave that joke music garbage to Jimmy Fallon. The Lonely Island actually offers up humorous songs that could be club bangers . They’re just really good.
*Hugh Jackman wants his EGOT (Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony). He’s really delivering on the hook.
You Got the Look-The Lonely Island ft. Hugh Jackman and Kristen Wiig (Explicit) *TLI performed this on Jimmy Kimmel but with Alanis Morrisette and it was terrible. Solange is great on this track (and Maya Rudolph plays the teacher)
Semicolon-The Lonely Island ft. Solange Knowles ~Suddenly R. Kelly is e’rywhere.
*Hearing Justin Bieber sing about sex is like hearing your little brother talking about sex. Nasty. I’m going to tell on him. Shouldn’t he be playing “Call of Duty” or watching “Sesame Street”? At least he has a better falsetto than Justin Timberlake.
Put You Down-Justin Bieber ft. R. Kelly *Another song that I really wish had a clean version of. Bruno’s original is clean IIRC but of course when you add the Pied Piper it goes from PG-13 to R…R. Kelly. The track is produced by Pharrell Williams so it’s bolder and bigger than the original.
Gorilla (Remix)-Bruno Mars ft R. Kelly ~ “Artpop” is doing dismally on the chart and while “Artpop” doesn’t have as many great tracks as her first cd does there is the standout
Do What You Want-Lady Gaga ft. R. Kelly ~Their VH-1 biopic “Crazy Sexy Cool” took Twitter by storm with its portrayal of their manager singer Pebbles and how she and her husband L.A Reid did business. It was Team TLC all the way online with fans raining hell fire down on Pebbles as if TLC were are sisters and we had to avenging them.
The rest of the online community wondered why they never talked about Chili’s long relationship with Usher
and renewed interest in TLC. Their new single “Meant to Be” may not have set the charts on fire but their collabo with J. Cole has.
Crooked Smile-J. Cole ft. TLC ~ The only track I like off of Yeezy’s “Yeezus”. He almost left this track off the cd because he thought it sounded too much like a soccer anthem. But the driving beat of the drums and the blown speakers effect in the breaks are the reasons why this song is great.
Black Skinhead-Kayne West (Explicit) ~Kendrick Lamar got more press from his part in “Control” where he dissed other rappers. I think this song is a better reflection of his talent. And though I’m liking him he just makes me long for another Kid Cudi cd. Their sounds are similar.
Swimming Pools (Drank)-Kendrick Lamar *I just think these two songs go together. Ms. Robyn Fenty did her best Jamaican dancehall queen in this video
Pour It Up-Rihanna ~I watched their Austin City Limits and they sound just like they do on cd. They’re sound is so pure. Not the most entertaining of performers but their music way more than makes up for their limited stage presence. One of my faves off of the “Bankrupt” cd.
Chloroform-Phoenix *A bit funkier take on the original. It has more attitude.
Chloroform Remix-Sleigh Bells ~Since I pit the two Chloroforms against each other here’s another battle.
In one corner Zooey Deschanel and fellow actor Ben Schwartz (“House of Lies”) with their cover of “Tonight You Belong to Me”
In the other corner Steve Martin and Bernadette Peter’s cover of the same song from “The Jerk”.

I honestly never thought how weird that song was until “Key and Peele” did a version of it.

~I talked about how I don’t like “Yeezus” with the exception of “Black Skinhead”. I particularly hate “Bound 2” so much so that I refuse to watch the video. Though I did manage to make it through 3 minutes of James Franco’s parody of it.
Bound 3
*He looks wretched. He need to sleep for 2 weeks.

*Zac Efron says he wants to do “Bound 4”. Well, he didn’t say anything. I think his jaw is still wired shut from falling face first on his porch. In light of the revelation that Zefron went to rehab people think that he was strung out when he fell hence the breaking of the jaw. People theorize that our natural instinct is to shoot our hands out to break the fall but he apparently didn’t. Also there was no 911 call and people think that’s unsual for something so severe. But I don’t. He broke his jaw, not broke a leg. He could still drive to the hospital. And I would be afraid to cal 911 knowing that the tape would be released by TMZ.
But Franco wasn’t finished. He considers himself the new agent provacoteur so he posted these pictures titled. “Fifty Shades of Batman and Robin”
I don’t get what Franco is trying to say with this. Is he saying that Robin came on Bruce’s cowl or is he saying Bruce came on his cowl and then donned it as Robin watched? I can see Bruce doing both, honestly. And though he just says Robin I fanwank that it’s Jason Todd’s Robin. Dick is too in love with Bruce to come on his “face”. That’s a Jason Todd thing all the way.
Doesn’t Franco have more classes he needs to be taking? Instead of being online?
Now, is the random NSFW-ish version of the post!
*The trailer for Lars Von Trier’s “Nymphomaniac” has been released.
NSFW
Despite Shia LaBeouf saying he’d be having actual sex on the set, there were sex doubles.
But not for the posters!
He should be pinching his nipples. Can’t Shia do anything right?!
Oh, Billy Elliott, who knew you’d grow up to be so fetching?
The cast and their director (Von Triers is the one in the back with his mouth taped. Hot.)
*Random Troy Garity post.
This is one of my favorite scenes from “Soldier’s Girl”. Troy makes everything seem porny. The first thing I saw him in was “Barbershop” and they introduced his character by having him kissing his girlfriend goodbye and it was like they were fcuking but they were kissing. That’s how down and dirty Troy gets and I love him for it.

*Michael Fassbender recently confessed that all the talk of his penis during awards season for “Shame” was embarrassing and that no one would talk about a woman that way. Despite Fassbender living in this fantasy world where women aren’t objectified on the daily in Hollywood, he’s right. I couldn’t believe at every turn they talked about his penis during interviews and even awards ceremonies. No one should be humiliated like that. It’s really disrespectful.
To that end here’s a picture of him peeing on the set of his movie.
At least I’m not talking about your junk, Fassbender
