Smallville Alums Are Working

Creative Team Edition

*SV writers and producers/EPs have proven to be employable! Amazingly Kelly Souders and Brian Peterson is in that group. The two are co-showrunners for “Beauty and the Beast”.

*Turi Meyer and Al Septien were writing for “The Vampire Diaries” (along with other SV alum Caroline Dries), but are now writing and co-producing on “Hawaii Five-O”.

*Holly Harold has been co-producer of “Warehouse 13” since last year.

*Ken Biller is co-creator and co-producer of TNT’s “Perception” starring Eric McCormack and Rachael Leigh Cook. The show has been renewed for a second season.

*Todd Slavkin and Darren Swimmers are consulting producers for SyFy’s “Alphas”.

*Holly Henderson and her SV writing partner Don Whitehead were writers and producers of “The Secret Circle”.

*AlMiles are producers of the upcoming Sylvester Stallone, Jason Momoa and Christian Slater sure to be laughably bad film “Bullet to the Head”. AlMiles and Tollin/Robbins Productions are also still in litigation with WB over vertical integration royalties. AlMiles and T/R contends that they are owed millions of dollars because the WB wasn’t competitive in the licensing agreements to “Smallville”, instead the Company gave itself sweetheart deals. The theory being if WB had licensed SV thoroughly and to other nets they would get more money, instead WB dealt in-house with its holdings (airing SV beginnings on WB and on TNT) and charged itself less money for the right to air the repeats.

*On the actors front: Callum Blue has booked the Lifetime pilot “The Secret Lives of Wives” as Dan, a “Lutheran minister who looks more like a sexy rock star than a pastor.” The pilot also stars Kim Raver (“Grey’s Anatomy”), Salli Richardson-Whitfield (Eureka), Joe Flanigan (Stargate) and Lauren Bittner.

*Callum’s buddy Robbie Williams is a proud papa.

Meanwhile Callum’s former “The Tudors” costar Jonathan Rhys Meyers is filming “The Mortal Instruments” and looking….well….

No, I wasn’t doing bumps off the tray table. What makes you say that?

Johnny always had coke eyes, but he usually looks better and less coked out zombie.

*John Glover appeared in the October 22nd episode of “The Good Wife” titled “Don’t Haze Me, Bro”. “The Good Wife” had its own bit of fanwank when fans and critics bashed the Kalinda storyline (I don’t watch the show, but from what I’m reading there’s a psychosexual element to her relationship with her ex-husband Nick). The showrunner announced that they didn’t want to alienate fans so they are ending the storyline earlier than planned.

Back to Glover, people have posted shots of him on set of the upcoming horror film “Sanitarium”. It’s an anthology film akin to “Tales from the Darkside” or “Tales from the Crypt” with a host taking viewers through stories about the patients in the sanitarium. The film also stars Lou Diamond Philips, Robert Englund and Lacey Chabert.

A fan also recounted driving Glover to Penn Station after he visited their university. The fan said that they talked politics a bit and Glover is an Obama supporter and pressed the idea of people voting.

Glover as Sideshow Bob?

*Hide your Oxy, your uppers, your downers, your reds and yellows, Product Placement Pete is out the hoosegow.

He tells his tale to “The Insider”.

*His former “Blue Mountain State” costar Alan Ritchson tweeted his support of him. But Alan is quite busy as he’s been working on the sequel to “Hunger Games” “Catching Fire” and a bigger deal is that he and his wife had their first child on September 19th A little Aqualad! I think Alan is keeping his Twitter just for work purposes because he hasn’t mentioned the birth, but his brother tweeted his congrats.

~Changes are afoot in TV-Ville: AMC's "Hell on Wheels" Season Three is on hold until AMC can decide who to replace their departed creator. Or maybe until AMC figures out who actually watches that show. A friend of mine watched in S1 but he only watched so he can talk about how impossible it is for a Common's character to have that neat of a beard while working on the railroads. Only thing I know about "Hell on Wheels" is that wacky uncle Zor-El is on the show.

*F/X's "Wilfred" is definitely returning for a third season but with a change in showrunners. Season one through two showrunner David Zuckerman will remain EP, but the two other EPs will become showrunners..

*He came, he saw, he bailed. Brendan Fraser exited a pilot for TNT shortly after the deal was announced. "Legends" is developed for TV from a novel Robert Littell about a "deep-cover operative who has an uncanny ability to transform himself into a different person for each job." Essentially Fraser with better wigs than he had in "The Mummy 2".

Speaking of “The Mummy” it has been announced that Universal will reboot the movie but with a darker turn. Sadly, one of the actors from “The Mummy” died a few months ago. Stephen Dunham of WB’s “What I Liked About You” died of a heart attack on his birthday. He played Mr. Henderson in “The Mummy”.

Stephen’s last film was “Paranormal Activity 4” which he costarred in with his wife Alexondra Lee.

*You won't have "Political Animals" to not watch anymore. The limited series which could've been extended hasn't been. We've seen the end of the proto Clintons and scene chewing extraordinaire Ciarin Hinds. While the ratings were decent, it was too expensive for USA. Maybe this will mean more Sebastian Stan on "Once Upon a Time".

USA also freed up some money for potentially better rated shows by canceling "Fairly Legal" starring Sarah Shahi and Michael Ealy and Warren Kole's "Common Law." I"m sad to see "Common Law" go. It was pretty weak as a cop drama but the dynamic of the relationship between Kole and Ealy and their therapy group was entertaining enough. Warren Kole has already booked a recurring role on FOX's "The Following" (starring James Purefoy and Kevin Bacon) and Sarah will be joining NBC's "Chicago Fire". Hopefully for some sexy times with Uncle Werewolf Taylor Kinney.

Getting more ink with Gaga

Speaking of guys with slutty tramp stamps Alex Loughlin is a dad again! His girlfriend Malia gave birth to their son Lion a few weeks ago. They both have sons from previous relationships: Alex’s fifteen year old Saxon and Malia’s three-year old Spike.

Another dad with trashy tats is Brian Austin Green. David Silver Metallo Derek Reese Brian's wife Megan Fox gave birth to Noah Shannon Green in September.

Brian probably hopes that his series "Wedding Band" bears ratings so that he can continue to take care of his family and fill his body with more "art".

~A dad who probably doesn't worry about providing for his children financially is Misha Collins because, obviously, they're equipped to survive with little to nothing.

Maison (pronounced Mason) Marie Collins. That’s right Misha and Victoria. Teach them how to survive in the wild at a young age

Not to be undone, Storm Shadow, Thomas Padalecki.

*I’m trying to hang in there with “Supernatural”. I think I’ve only watched two complete episodes this season. I do enjoy how desperate for male attention Dean is. I think he needs a pair of Manolo Blahnik.
and a curly perm and needs to rename himself Carrie Bradshaw.

Remember that part in “Brokeback Mountain” when Ennis goes to Jack’s parents house and his dad says that Jack would bring different men up to the land and talk about building a life with them? That’s Dean. (Yes, Dean is both Carrie Bradshaw and Jack Twist.) Each guy in Dean’s life is either a stand-in for Papa Winchester, Sam or Castiel.

“Gordon, you’re a hunter just like me. You speak the language of my heart. It’s like I don’t know my brother anymore since he abandoned our family for school and the worst part, a girl! Make me feel good.”

“Guy who’s a siren, I know I just met you and this is crazy, but call me, maybe? And when you call me talk dirty to me cos I really need it because my brother doesn’t understand me.”

“Henricksen, I love how you trust me without much push back. I really need that since Sam’s balls dropped and he wants to actually drive my car and pick the music. You get me and frankly my dear, I do give a damn!”

“Castiel, you had me at hello and “I’m the one who gripped you tight and raised me from Perdition.” The two of us? We have a destiny together. Filled with sex and tears. And more tears. And a bit more sex.”

“Benny! I’m just a boy, standing in front of a another boy, asking him to love him because everyone I loved has betrayed me!!! Fcuking angels! Just taking your trust and your heart. Make me forget, Benny. Take me to bed or lose me forever. Or until Castiel comes back because you know you’re just the rebound guy, right?”

You know it’s true! Dean hitches his draggin’ wagon to a guy who gives him the time of day.

SEE!!

These two….

~The other half of J2 version 1, Joanna Krupa is being a glorious mess on “The Real Housewives of Miami”.

Young love

She’s so fake and phony and creates drama to make good TV-which isn’t even interesting drama-but how do I love her for trying? She’s as transparent as her shirt.

Talk about fame whore. But she owns it and I ain’t mad at her.

Her ridiculous PETA ad

*A show that has been given less time to fail is FOX's "The Goodwin Games". The midseason replacement show starring Scott Foley and "Ugly Betty"s Becki Newtwon has had its order reduced from 13 to7. Becki Newton can't catch a break. Coming off of "Ugly Betty" she was a big deal: every pilot wanted her. But the pilots she's booked never make it to air.

*Networks are being very patient with this new season. So far only two shows have been cancelled. The first casualty was CBS' "Made in Jersey' followed by NBC's "Animal Practice". Thought to be next on the chopping block is FOX's "Mob Doctor" (a show I actually like) or CBS' very low-rated "Partners" (a show I only watch for Brandon Routh)

By the way, check out this very cute Superman joke that goes over like a lead weight.

I think it’s funny.

He turns into Clark right before our very eyes

*Brandon and Courtney debut their baby Leo James in People magazine.

As if Brandon needed to be any cuter

Celebrity Offspring time!
*Connor Cruise made his film debut three years ago with the “Red Dawn” remake. It will finally see the light of day on November 21st (solid film and Hemsworth is a star. This was before "Thor" but it was evident. He's such a strong actor). In the interim Connor has been DJ’ing and breaking Nicole Kidman’s heart with tweeting his love of his family.

Damn, dude. Aren’t you missing someone?

*Jason Gould, son of Elliott Gould and Barbra Streisand, has released his first CD. It features a duet with his mom.

Danny Pudi and wife shows off their twins!

Cher, her mom and sister
*She comes from great stock.

*I had no idea Lily Rabe of “American Horror Story” is the daughter of the late Jill Claybourgh. I should’ve known. That type of waspiness can only be born like Gwyneth Paltrow from Blythe Danner.

Jeffrey Dean Morgan and baby Gus

Gus just saw Jensen shirtless. He’ll never eat cottage cheese again.

Daddy and daughter dive. Justin Hartley and Isabella

*Tony Perkins’ son Oz (played Reese Witherspoon’s boyfriend in “Legally Blonde”) gave a series of personal Polaroids of his father to a retro site for posting.

Oz and Dad

Tony with sons Oz and Elvis

Tony with Susan and Chris Sarandon

~ A&E’s series “Psycho” is currently shooting in Vancouver.

The series deals with young Norman Bates and his brother’s relationship with their mom. The show stars Vera Farmiga, Freddie Highmore (“Charlie and the Chocolate Factory”) as Norman and Max Theirot (“The Astronaut Farmer”) as his brother.

Freddie does like creepy

Max

~Another adaptation is “Hannibal” which stars Hugh Dancy (“The Big C”), Laurence Fishbourne and Madds Mikkelson (“Casino Royale”). It centers on Hannibal Lecter’s relationship with a FBI therapist.

*Full season orders have been given to "The Mindy Project" (FOX), "Scandal" (ABC), "The Neighbors" (ABC) (a show I panned but is one of the bright spot in all of the sitcoms I watch. I was so wrong about this one. I will never be wrong about how awful "Malibu Country" is, though. I stand by that.), "Vegas" (CBS),

Jason Mara with poor Taylor Handey who has nothing to do

"Elementary" (CBS). "Arrow" received a full season order a while back

Suck it, “Beauty and the Beast”

…wait, wait, wait…"Beauty and the Beast" received a full season pickup yesterday.

Just kiss already!

*I watch the show but I can’t say I’m a fan. I love Jay Ryan’s hairstyle more than I like anything about the show. I’m trying, though.

This is my expression when watching the show

Random Jay Ryan pics

Eeven his underarm hair rates lower than the hair on his head

*"Emily Owens M.D" received additional script orders, so hopefully that's a good sign. “Emily Owens M.D” is like “Hart of Dixie” to me in that the main character does nothing for me, but I like the supporting characters. I just don’t get the Mamie Gummer appeal.

Maybe if they keep giving viewers shirtless Justin the ratings will tick up.

He’s a doll!

Even young!Lex thinks so

~Another good guy is Matt Dallas. Matt will reunite with this “Kyle XY’ costar Jean Luc Bilodeau on his ABC Family show “Baby Daddy”.

Matt and Luc on set now

Matt and Luc Then

*”Baby Daddy” star Tahj Mowry liked having him around.

*Matt also tweeted this pic of his get together with his other “Kyle XY” family: April Matson, creator Julie Plec and the chick who played the mom.

~Other reunions?

James Marster and Anthony Stewart Head with Eddie McClintock and Saul Rubinek of “Warehouse 13”

Nicky Brendon and James Marsters at some Con

Alyson Hannigan and Seth Green on “How I Met Your Mother”

Reunited

What could’ve been!

Earlier in the day

Scott Bakula going where many a man has boldly gone and signing John Barrowman’s bum.

*The cast of “Popular” at AIDS LA charity run.

Ryan Murphy destroyed the show, but not their friendship

~Crossing the pond I'm not so eagerly awaiting "Being Human" Series 5.

I enjoyed last season but that's because Annie was still around, now it's just the newbies. I can't take change. But I am settling in for Series 4 of "Misfits".

I was really waiting to see Seth again

and it's a change-up, but I'm enjoying it. Though three episodes in nad there's no clear direction so far for the season.

~I don't know if ths will be on BBC America or another BBC station but Daniel Radcliffe and Jon Hamm have done a miniseries together called "The Young Doctor's Notebook" in which a doctor (Hamm) visits his younger self (Radcliffe).

"A Young Doctor's Notebook"

You know it's fantasy because Radcliffe will never grow up to be Hamm. Never. Ever.Ever.

~In news unrelated to anything in this post Kevin Clash who voices “Sesame Street”s Elmo has taken a leave of absence (which will probably extend until forever) due to the revelation that seven years ago he was involved with a 16-year old boy. Clash, who was 45 at the time, admits he was in a relationship with the accuser, now 23, but didn’t say when their relationship took place. The accuser contacted the execs of the show in June and told them about the relationship. They met with him twice and Kevin and says that they found the accusation unfounded. 16 isn’t the age of consent in New York where Kevin lives so…dumbass is in some garbage more than Oscar the Grouch.

Anyhooo. This season of “Sesame Street” saw guest stars Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Paula Patton and Timothy Olyphant

~ I Leave You With…
