From the LA Times:
Warner Bros. Pictures announced today that Anne Hathaway has been cast as Selina Kyle in Christopher Nolan’s “The Dark Knight Rises.”
She will be starring alongside Christian Bale, who returns in the title role of Bruce Wayne/Batman. Christopher Nolan stated, “I am thrilled to have the opportunity to work with Anne Hathaway, who will be a fantastic addition to our ensemble as we complete our story.”
In addition, Tom Hardy has been set to play Bane. Nolan said, “I am delighted to be working with Tom again and excited to watch him bring to life our new interpretation of one of Batman’s most formidable enemies.”
“The Dark Knight Rises” is slated for release on July 20, 2012.
Well...Thoughts? I think she's too twee for Selina, but I trust Nolan. I'm disappointed that Tom is Bane instead of the rumored Hush or Hugo Strange. I like the psychological aspects of those characters in relation to Batman. All I know about Bane is that he was all, "Fcuk your back, Batman." and he broke it, propelling someone else to don the cowl while Bruce recovered.
*In other superhero film news, a picture of "X-Men: First Class" cast photo has leaked.
If you are like me and don't know who half of these stranger heroes are, Film Rejects breaks it down.
Michael Fassbender as Magneto - Pre-helmet.
Rose Byrne as Dr. Moira MacTaggart - Nobel-winning expert in genetic mutation.
January Jones as Emma Frost - Sporting, naturally, some duds from Frederick’s of Hollywood.
Jason Flemyng (dawnybee: my favorite ginger)as Azazel - Nightcrawler’s daddy.
Nicholas Hoult as Beast - Looking sort of like the blue Hulk here.
Lucas Till as Havok - Cyclops’s plasma-blasting nephew younger brother.
Zoe Kravitz as Angel Salvadore - An ice-blasting left hand, a fire-blasting right, and acid spit. Not bad.
Jennifer Lawrence as Mystique - Keeping the classic movie make-up in tact.
James McAvoy as Professor X - Standing!
~The full line up for the 2011 Paley Fest has been announced.
An Evening with Jimmy Fallon, "Hot in Cleveland", "Community" (again?!), "Eastbound and Down", "The Walking Dead", "Undeclared/Freaks and Geeks" Reunion, "White Collar", "Parks and Recreation", "True Blood", "Raising Hope", "American Idol" and "Supernatural".
It's not unusual to be feted twice: SPN, "American Idol" and "True Blood" have been honored twice, but usually there's a gap. "Community" was just there last year!
~Coachella's lineup has also been announced.
First day headliners will be Kings of Leon. Other sets that day will be Interpol, The Chemical Brothers, Lauryn Hill (if she shows up), man of the hour Cee-Lo Green, Brandon Flowers amongst others.
Saturday's headliners are The Aracde Fire.Other sets that day will include Big Audio Dynamite, Broken Social Scene, Eryakah Badu, Raphael Saadiq, The Scissor Sisters among others.
Sunday, closing day, will be headlined by Kanye West, The Strokes, Duran Duran (!!), PJ Harvey, She Wants Revenge amongst others.
~Okay, "The Game" isn't as good as I remember it, but Coby Bell is still the MVP of that cast.
Here he is as Jason Pitts with his debut single "Dip and Pitts".

*Patrick Stump, former lead singer of Fall Out Boy needs to stop playing around and do a true R&B album. I've listened to some of these songs he's leaking for his album but I don't like alot of them. His songs I like are the ones he's not putting on the album.
But here's a sampling of his talent with his medley of "Empire State of Mind" (Jay Z/Alicia Keys), Lady Antebellum's "Need You Now", Bruno Mars & B.O.B's "Nothing on You"
