TV Guide Comic Con Edition....

Jul 16, 2010 10:20

~The Comic Con edition of TV Guide is out and it’s shockingly good. Warner Bros. did a great job at promoting their shows through this tie-in. Too bad this generous spirit doesn’t extend to NEW PUBLICITY PHOTOS FOR SMALLVILLE.

Scans of

*Be careful of spoilers in these articles seeing as that I didn't actually read any of them, just looked at the pretty pictures.

Smallville

They also added the intro pages of the current “Grounded” storyline for Superman.

Out in stores now, “Grounded” follows Superman as he walks through the country trying to connect to humans on a personal level.

Occasionally dropping existential knowledge on them.

Clark is going to get tired of this pretty soon.

What is Lois going to do whilst her husband is away? She will visit him. But she’ll do it in a natural way unlike Batman who uses a hologram to startle Superman out of his sleep.

This takes place after Lex finds out Superman’s identity and Bruce tries to warn Clark.

~Smallville question: What song used on the show would you consider memorable? I was looking at the music guide on Kryptonsite and laughed at the dated music (Dishwalla, people. Dishwalla.) and it got me thinking of what song makes me think of SV. I'll always equate Eva Cassidy's "Time After Time", Minnie Driver's "Deeper Water" and AFI's "Prelude" as SV songs. So which songs are your faves? Most memorable?

Supernatural

~Eric Kripke talks Season Six: SPOILERY

On what his role will be this season:

KRIPKE: I see my job as being a safety net and just making sure that the show falls in the broadest possible parameters…. Sera and Bob [Singer] are pitching episode ideas to me. I’m in the room so far for every episode break. I pitch a couple of episode ideas, pitch a couple issues of how to fix some problems and some breaks. I’m giving some script notes. I’m still in it; I think, frankly, Sera and Bob wish I backed the hell up. [Laughs]

**This is what I don’t get. I really believe he was asked to take a pay cut (just as Al and Miles were) and I think his compromise was to ease back on his job duties and retain the same or lesser salary, therefore not doing all the heavy lifting and getting paid a salary commiserate for his time as a consultant. But I think that’s going to be tiring for Sera and Bob because it’s really not Kripke’s job anymore so for him to give them notes is sidetracking their goals for the series here on out.

Test Your Knowledge

~Comic Con is creeping closer and more bits are coming out such as confirmation that the Js, Jim Beaver and Misha will hold it down for the SPN panel.

The bags that Warner will give out at Comic Con.

TA-DAH!

One sheet for DVD

(Not a Comic Con item, but series long boxset of SV)

I’m guessing these are double sided, so some bags may share images like in 2008 SV and SPN shared a bag

~Also WB has a selection of keycards at various hotels. So you know what that means, right? You can stick Tom Welling into your slot. ::groans at self::

~ Ryan Reynolds as “Green Lantern” Hal Jordan covers EW for their Comic Con edition.

Also in the cast is Tim Robbins and Angela Bassett as Amanda Waller.

No, CCH Pounder should've been Waller, but oh, well.

~Is it any wonder why Hal and Oliver are best friends?

Obligatory:

Jason Momoa is hot

~The film "Red" will be presenting. I wonder if the gorgeous Karl Urban will be in attendance.

~Since we’re talking genre stuff, Kelly Brook (Victoria Hardwicke) recently did a shoot where she dressed as fannish faves.
