QAF Alums, Awards Season...

Jun 07, 2010 13:59

~QAF actors are doing stuff! Hal Sparks standup special “Charmageddon” is airing on Showtime, Thea Gill and Melanie Clunie were at hand for the GLAAD Media Awards and the man, the myth, the legend Gale Harold was honored alongside Jennifer Beals for their work on “Queer as Folk” and “The L Word” respectively.

Darling

Is that his speech? It probably took him ½ hr to finish reading it

Ummm

Looking hot still

*Bonus Jake Silbermann on the set of his film "Stuffer". I don't even know if he's Noah or Luke, I just know he looks good.

I’m way outside of MTV demo, but I still made myself watch the MTV Movie Awards.

The Ugly
Jonah Hill, Christopher Mintz-Plasse and Michael Cera, “Eclipse”. These are all things that need to be rolled up in a rug, tied with chains and dumped in the river.

I wouldn’t hate on Jonah, Christopher and Cera so much if I didn’t think they were cocky SOBs who believe their own hype and think they’re cool. Nerds need a better role model.

The Bad

*The awful, awful banter, excessive Will Ferrell, Kristin Stewart and Robert Pattinson doing schtick (oh, we don’t know how to kiss. You two asses did that same act last year!)

*Christina Aguilera’s new music, especially the song “Bionic”. I think the reason Christina had to cancel her tour was because of the low record sales for “Bionic” and the problem with the songs seems to me is that Christina is trying too hard to be Rihanna or Lady Gaga. Her voice is her selling point, so all of these futuristic type theatrics doesn’t help her, it just makes it look like she’s desperate to stay relevant. If she just came out with a great pop song like she used to make, she wouldn’t have this problem.

*The “Twilight” wins. I hate those people. Anna Kendrick won for “Up in the Air” (for playing the same fcuking character she plays in “Twilight”, mind you and the same character she plays in “Scott Pilgrim vs. the World) , beating out Logan Lerman and he had a look on his face like “Her?” Don’t hate Logan, “Percy Jackson and the Olympians” was garbage.

*Dwayne Johnson didn’t look very hot. What’s going on?!! I hope it’s just my eyesight.

The Good

*Rain won for “Bad-Ass Award”. Oh wow, still hot. If they make a sequel to “Ninja Assassin”, if they aren’t planning on having a love scene, just don’t even make it. I refuse to see a film where Rain is not getting laid. This has to stop. Asian actors never get the girl. They can kick everyone’s ass and save the heroine, but actually get some loving? Never happens.

*I have a bad feeling I’m going to end up loving “California Gurls” by Katy Perry, but right now I still hate it, but her performance was very cute.

*Aziz Ansari was good. I don’t think the room was receiving him well, but what makes Aziz funny to me is that he doesn’t seem to care if anyone is listening to him or getting his humor.

Extremely stupid, but I laugh each time I watch it.

He is really like his alter “Raaaaandy”.

*Sandra Bullock’s acceptance speech for “Generational Award”. She addressed the tabloid rumors and very courteously refocused all the sympathies from her plight to those in the Gulf Coast going through this oil spill tragedy.

*Tom Cruise (as “Tropic Thunder”s Les Grossman)’s dance routine with Jennifer Lopez. J-Lo is still hot. Her body is like KA-POW, KA-BLAM! BLA-DOW!! The two of them killed it.

*Ken Jeong’s acceptance speech thanking his wife who battled (and is now free of) cancer. I was all set to bag on Kieran Culkin for looking like a smack addict who had sex for drugs when Ken got up there and got me all teary eyed.

~We are in the midst of the awards season (AGAIN!) and the studios are lobbying for their shows. Matthew Bomer seems to be the one USA is hedging their bets on. They ran a front page For Your Consideration ad in Hollywood Reporter for him with smaller ads for Tim Dekay and other USA actors, James Roday, Tony Shalhoub and Jeffrey Donovan.

Warner Bros. is throwing everything but the kitchen sink in for contention. Including "Smallville" which so far they haven't run ads in the trades, but it will be included in an insert in July's Emmy Magazine.

The Television Critics Association awards nominations have been announced and there are some people who I’m very thrilled about in the running.

Jim Parsons ("The Big Bang Theory," CBS)
Eric Stonestreet ("Modern Family," ABC)

INDIVIDUAL ACHIEVEMENT IN DRAMA
Bryan Cranston ("Breaking Bad," AMC)

Here’s Justin and Lindsay at this weekend’s Days of Our Lives charity event. Justin was also at a pre-MTV Movie Awards party.

Does he just wear T-shirts everywhere?

Same pose, but a bit slimmer, right?

*Chace Crawford was busted in Texas for having a joint in his car during a traffic stop. He looks *pissed* because he’s not looking his best.

Haters Gon’ Hate

You can’t punch your way out of this one

*Now I can’t unsee it. Paul Wesley vs. Puppet Angel

~Here’s Paul speaking Polish ( a bit). If he has kids, I hope he keeps it alive in them. It seems he’s slipping.
