Apparently. The frontpage piece about this on the Huffington post is hilarious. I don't know the context of the pic, but it's one of Bill looking really self-satisfied. He got it done, I salute him.

It is a Charm Offensive not seen since Shirley Temple sank the Good Ship Lollipop with her charm torpedoes.

Don't make the US pull out their Big Bill Weapon and use it on you! You were warned!

When Shirley began developing and wearing those tight sweaters, those were charm torpedoes!

I think it's too late. Euna and Laura will be at home w/ their families before Kim Jong Il realizes the glamour Bill put on him.

Bill's ability to charm and manipulate has never been in question, but doesn't this make Hillary look kind of ineffective?

That's what I say, but my friend argues that it was most definitely done w/ Hillary's guidance, but if he went in under the tutelage of Hillary, than she could've gone in herself to make a case, unless there's a cultural thing where a woman wouldn't be taken seriously. I'm sure there are people asking this same question and Hillary is probably wishing it were herself who got it done.

Maybe it was a cultural thing about the status of women in North Korean society. Maybe they wanted to massage Kim Jong Il's ego by giving him a former President with whom to negotiate. But regardless of who orchestrated this (and I don't doubt that Hillary was heavily involved) and why, I think it unavoidably sends the message that Hillary couldn't get the job done without Bill's help.

But in the end I'm just glad these women get to come home.

Undoubtedly that's the scuttlebutt. I even joked that she'll keep using him as her fixer.

But I'm loving these headlies "Journalists Go Home with Clinton"...I'm sure he'd like that, but I think he's learned his lesson :)

He came in and got it done! I think they should send him all around world on these efforts because his power of persuasion is still at full-throttle.
