~I was out of town during the upfronts. While I’m not surprised Tom Welling wasn’t part of the proceedings, I’m surprised neither Jensen or Jared or even Misha Collins was on hand. At least Erica Durance and Justin Hartley held it down for SV
Other than a video interview, this seems to be the only picture of the two of them. Or not. ETA: because as Jeannev pointed out, they were in Chi-town and not NY.
I’m still figuring out how I feel about the CW pushing SV to Fridays. I still think it’s a bad move, but if Dawn O is to believed and they want to bolster as many nights that they can, it’s a good show of faith to put SV on Friday in hopes that the show can give the CW a more rounded week. That they’re not putting SV there to languish, but to build ratings on a Friday night. Smallville on Friday nights though?
I don’t have to figure out my feelings about the cancellation of “The Game” or “Reaper”. I hate that they’re gone. Next to FOX (and really only because of their Sunday animation line up since “Prison Break” and “The Sarah Connor Chronicles” are off), the network I watch the most is The CW. I’ve been with The WB since it’s inception when it was the channel for Black comedies or innovative shows like “Buffy The Vampire Slayer” that other nets didn’t want to risk bringing to air. Then when they came up, UPN became that channel. Now it seems that with the merger, the network has decided that they don’t want to focus on diversity. I’m not even talking just for shows with Black leads, but with People of Color period. And I'm not talking any show will do--a good quality show, which I felt "Everybody Hates Chris" and "The Game" were.
There was a Save the Game post on ONTD and someone wrote in effect, what’s the big deal, the CW was canceling “Reaper” which starred “average White people.” And my response was that “Reaper” also starred one of the few Latino actors on the network, Rick Gonzalez. I don’t watch every CW show, but just off the top of my head I think Rick Gonzalez, Jay Manuel (“America’s Next Top Model) and Michael Steger (90210) are the only Latino actors represented. Then on “Gossip Girls” there’s the lone Asian actress who is part of Blair’s crew and that’s it for the network?
If Dawn O wants to showcase the CW as this new model for youth and the times we live in, shouldn’t she work to show that commitment by not just tossing a few POCs in the mix of a show, but maybe having a commitment to having shows with POCs as leads? This is sadly the case for all networks, and they have to all do better, but I really love the CW network and if they glory in being a new model and different from the rest of the nets, they should show that in the shows they put on the air.
The CW actors shilling for their shows. Tom did it better!
Ian Somerhalder and Paul Wesley of “The Vampire Diaries”, ie, the show that undeservedly is getting Smallville’s timeslot. What’s more frightening: Vampires or their eyebrows ?
Stills from the show
I can’t hate very much on Ian even though he seems dickish. Look at him! Is he going bald? Young guys who wear hats like that usually are. Unlike Tom who will never go bald.
Paul Wesley, the most unattractive Luthor
Oh, Chace. How hard this must all be for you. You’re looking so sallow and pale and your ex so tan and robust.
With the cruel photographers who make you pose with the girl your ex is now sleeping with. She’s relishing in his discomfort.
Penn Badgley looking rougher than usual
Leighton and Blake showing their gams
It’s a hard knock life for real for Taylor Monsen. Where does one go when being 17 but looking like a lifelong streetwalker?

Tyra Banks. What’s the use of being rich if you can’t get a better weave?

No, your facial hair is odder than mine.
No, yours!
Honey, guess who I’m looking at right now! Chace Crawford! I know, I know. I don’t know if he and Ed are still together. He’s looking pretty sad.
Real sad.

~Know who this post needs more
of?
Ari Cohen!
I can’t find many pics of him, only some from the play “Frost/Nixon” (he received great reviews, thank you very much. He still hot looking all official and stuff.
Ari is from Winnipeg, but resides in Vancouver with his wife and two children. He was nominated for a Canadian theatre award for his work in “Noises Off” which I would’ve loved to see. I’m keeping my fingers and toes crossed that he’ll return to Smallville in S9 to continue to vex and taunt Tess.
~Saw “Drag Me to Hell” last night. Thoroughly entertaining. And the best thing was that it gave me nightmares, which these other horror films I’ve seen recently haven’t. It’s the typical bold macabre of other Raimi work or “Tales from the Crypt”. And the best thing? Justin Long didn’t irritate me.
