~Tonight is Smallville’s season eight finale. WE DID IT!!! We know we love the actors, but it’s great to hear how their guest stars and costars feel about them as well.

Jessica Parker Kennedy

Not a lot of people can say they were rescued by Clark Kent/Tom Welling. What was it like working on the set of Smallville?

JPK: The cast members of Smallville are a pleasure to work with. They are kind and giving actors. Everyone is very friendly and welcoming. I really felt a part of the show while I was there. On top of that I had a ridiculous amount of fun.

Lee Thompson Young

What’s the best thing about being on Smallville?
L.T.Y.: The best thing is probably the cast. Everyone on the show is cool to hang around and a blast to work with.

Kyle Gallner

What’s the best thing about being on Smallville
K.G.: The best thing about working on Smallville is the fact that I get to play a superhero. How many people can say that they have done that in their lives?! The worst thing about working on the show is that I always want to go back! It's such a fun show to work on that when I leave I am bummed out and want to do it again.

Alan Ritchson

A.R.: The best thing about being on Smallville for me is the opportunity to do what I love for a living, and it's one of the most fun jobs, with an awesome cast and crew.

From an interview with Kryptonsite:

KS: Was there any member of the cast that you worked with that stood out in helping make Smallville a great experience for you?

Alan: Each of the cast members that I worked with. …But I really spent a lot of time with Tom, with Erica, and with Michael, and really each of them in their own ways made the experience really exceptional for me, and I think I took a little piece of each of them with me.

Erica was the first person I met on set, so she introduced me to everybody, and really helped me feel comfortable about me walking into a Season 5 of a successful show. 'Cause they've been doing a really good job with it, and it's sort of like I was just coming into their home territory, so she really made me feel at ease and comfortable about everything, and she's so great to work with. I really enjoyed working with her.

Tom is such a leader. I was really impressed with the way that he conducts business on set. How professional he is. He gets things done, and he helps move things along, and keeps things light and fun. And then at the same time, there are things about Smallville stylistically that maybe I wouldn't know unless I've been on the set for five years, and he would give me these little tips and pointers that would just help tremendously. I was so grateful to him for all that.

And then Michael Rosenbaum. He's a character. You know, in times where I was maybe feeling a little overwhelmed, or if I was getting stressed out about a scene, he'd come in and he would just start telling stories, and he's hilarious. So his ability to just have so much fun on set, and then in an instant turn it on, it was kind of fun to watch, and I think that was interesting to be around. Just all of them were really incredible to be around. So I felt privileged to be part of that cast for a moment.

Lynda Carter

TV Guide: How was your experience on the set?

Carter: You're working with a group of people that have been together for a long time, so they're a family, but it was a very welcoming group. There was no tension or divas, and it's not always that way. ….. And everyone really loves Allison. She was great to work with, a real pro.

Mitchell Kosterman

Favorite SV moment
Mitchell: My best memory of Smallville was.well, I have many. Here are three:

Another was when, during the shooting of the scene in "Suspect" where I break down I asked Tom Welling to say something nice because that is the way I get myself to cry. I was asking him to help motivate me. He said some really nice things about my work and how sad it was I was going to be leaving the show. He was off camera, but he was there for me. It was great thing he did. A thing a lot of other actors wouldn't have time for, especially when they are the star of the show. Tom was there for me and I will never forget it.

Another happy memory was when I got my chair. Regular cast get canvas backed chairs with their name embroidered on them. They are not for "day players" such as myself. I was surprised and delighted when, in the early part of the second season, I got my own chair with my name on it. I still have it at home because they gave it to me when I left the show. It was a nice thing for them to do and it reflects the generous nature of the crew.

Camille Mitchell

They’re such warm and welcoming people. All the cast, the actors, everyone was just so nice. It made me feel very at home, you know.

.. I’d say it’s definitely one of the nicest experiences I’ve ever had. The crew is wonderful. The cast is really friendly and fun and hard working and it’s a pleasure to go there. It’s really a pleasure to go to work there. I love it.

And a shout-out to some who have passed through the SV set
