A newspaper gave a rundown on shows that appeal to women. Here's what they say about Smallville and Supernatural. Now find what's wrong with the description of Smallville….I'll wait.

Smallville
8 p.m. Thursdays, debuts Sept. 28, The CW
The allure: A young Clark Kent (Tom Welling) comes of age just as he's starting to realize his superhero powers.
The eye-candy quotient: Welling is, well, gorgeous.
Pink-meter rating: 5. With the exception of tough-talking Lana (Kristin Kreuk) and romantic tension, this is a pretty masculine series. But, we women do love a hero.

Supernatural
9 p.m. Thursdays, debuts Sept. 28, The CW
The allure: Two brothers follow in their father's footsteps and take down evil, one town at a time.
The eye-candy quotient: Both stars -- Jared Padalecki (Sam) and Jensen Ackles (Dean) -- have dreamboat potential. They both kick butt, too.
Pink-meter rating: 6. Aside from the occasional romance with a townswoman, this is a dude-driven show.

Q: Why is Fox getting rid of Gale Harold as the lead actor on "Vanished"? -- Linda, Pittsburgh

Rob: Linda further explained such a rumor popped up on Fox.com message boards for the show, indicating Harold's character will die in a future episode and Eddie Cibrian ("Invasion") will join the cast as the new lead.
A Fox publicist did not respond to an e-mail for comment, which makes me think there may be something to this rumor.

The VMA's

I haven’t watched MTV in so long that I didn’t even realize that John Norris became Elton John. Was that a tribble on his head? Are there no mirrors in his home? John must be on some good drugs if he thinks he looks good. The MTV brass needs to give John an intervention. Tell him there's nothing wrong with going bald.

I've been reading articles all morning about how the VMAs were boring. It won't say they were boring, they were just unspectacular. There wasn't one WOW moment. All the performances were good, but just good. Although, I have a feeling gadsten really enjoyed Justin Timberlake's performance ;D

JT: Really good. I expected more dancing from him since he thinks he's the second coming of Michael Jackson, but what he did worked with the songs.

Beyonce: Y’ ain’t Janet Jackson. Y’ not Angelina Jolie (her entrance was gakked from “Mr. And Mrs. Smith”) Not even En Vogue. Usually she brings it harder than last night's performance. I think she's trading performance with sexying up her image. I don't know why. It's wasted on her man, Joe Camel.

Shakira’s hips are lethal weapons. One of the best performances of the night. I loved how they panned to Xtina Aguilera afterwards and showed her politely clapping. You know she was thinking, “That b*tch! I could do that too, but I’m classy now.”

Christina Aguilera is a showoff. Yes, we know you can sing the house down, but you brought down the show by doing a slow song. Why do they let people do that? Completely ruins the pace.

Panic! At the Disco: Loved their performance. Style over substance is acceptable in this respect.

THE KILLERS!!! They can do no wrong in my eyes. I didn’t even flinch at Brandon Flowers’ Clark Gable-stache.

T.I: Of course I’m biased since I am going to marry him,
, but I think he gave the best R&B performance. At least there was something else going there besides him just waving his hands in the air.

Jared Leto looked like a freak. I wish he’ll just go ahead and let Hephaestion screw him already. It’d make him much more interesting.

Hype Williams Tribute: I liked the tribute, it made me remember how energetic and innovative Hype’s helmed videos were (“What’s It Gonna Be”-Janet Jackson and Busta Rhymes). Nowawdays, he uses the same premise: glossy triptych or split screen images. I hope he’s able to make the artists he works with challenge themselves and have them change up the formulaic bling+vidi-hos.

Highlights:

The Raconteurs with ZZ Top’s Billy Gibson.

Seeing Al Gore flocked by Pink and Steve-O.

Andre 3000, nee Benjamin looked hot even in those red Wonder Woman hooker boots. And The Rock? He’s lost some muscle, but the sexy is still intact.

The Axl Rose introduction. I used to have fantasies about this guy, with his nipple rings and ginger hair. What was I thinking? It was funny when Axl came out; the youngsters stood up and clapped politely even though they had no idea who he was. It's showing respect to their elders.

Music I'm Enjoying:
Mama's Room: Under the Influence of Giants
I defy anyone to try and not dance to this song. It's impossible.

I Try: Jesse McCartney
It royally sucks that I like this song this much. Next I'll be listening to Hilary Duff. But this song is good---until the end of the song where he rhymes "try" with "fly". Oooh, the cheese, the cheese! It's so crumbly and delicious.
