He is adorable, ain't he? =D They love him at the hospital. We don't, in fact, use any flea products on any of the animals. We got invaded by fleas for a short time last summer, after the cedar trees were removed from the back yard (they blew down, but even dead acted as a natural repellant to the fleas in the yard behind us.) When that happened, we got flea collars for everyone until it blew over --the flease never settled in our house, and we haven't seen them since last summer. The new family behind us doesn't have any animals (except all the kids) so the fleas apparently moved away, or have gone dormant. At any rate, none of the animals has had even a flea collar since last winter, when we finally felt safe enough to remove them. I'm really sorry to hear about Gunther.. that's a terrible thing to have happen. Now I'm REALLY glad we're so paranoid about flea powders and that other crap they're pushing. There's this product called Advantage that's supposed to repel flease for many months with just one application.. but we looked at it, and there were all sorts of warnings about not letting your kids pet the dog for a week or two after the application. Well, bloody hell... if I don't want my kids to have secondary contact with it, I SURE don't want to put it on my dog's SKIN. Christ on a freaking cracker. That'd be like rubbing motor oil on your baby's ass. No thanks.
We think he's going to be alright... it'll take some time to determine whether or not he's stable enough to travel with me, so I might have to put off the trip down there until next spring or so, but I'll surely let you know. This journal will get updated frequently now. Thanks, Jen m'love. :)
