Caught up in the stress and excitement of her senior year of high school, Jane doesn't realize just how desperate her best friend Allison has become. Feeling freakish, unpopular, and stupid, she decides she will do anything to change...including making a deal with a demon. At first Jane doesn't believe in this ridiculous, illogical situation, choosing instead to go after the manipulative new girl who she feels is messing with her friend's mind. But what if this girl really is a minion of Satan? What can Jane possibly do to save the day, and their immortal souls?
A fast paced, exciting read about good vs. evil, cupcakes, and friendship. An unlikely and weird romance is just frosting. Aside from all the Satanism and a bit of violence, fairly clean. I'll be booktalking this one to 8th graders (in public schools).
