I Shall Wear MidnightTerry Pratchett
Tiffany has settled into her routines as the witch of the Chalk. Her heart still smarts that former beau Roland is engaged to another, but she keeps herself too busy to think about it (almost). But when his father dies, and she must go to Ankh-Morpork to give him the news, she comes across a dark being determined to see her end, and smear the good name of witches everywhere. Suddenly people who have known her since she was a baby are treating her with suspicion and mistrust. How can she win back the hearts of her villagers, and save her sister witches from ill will and destruction?
I absolutely adore the Tiffany Aching books, and am sad that this is the
last one. But it is an excellent cap to a wonderful series, filled with humor and wisdom, with much to say about love, hate, watching what you think, and standing up for what is right. If you haven't read this series, I insist that you really must. Ok for middle school and up. But maybe best for adults who can really appreciate the many nuances and depths.
