King of Thorn (Volume 1)

Yuji Iwahara

When a horrible disease strikes, 160 people are selected by lottery to be frozen until a cure can be found.  They awaken in a far future to a world filled with monsters and giant thorn brambles weaving through the castle they were stored in.  Many are eaten immediately, others have succumb to the disease.  How can they escape this terrible place, and is there anywhere to escape to?  Or are they alone in a horrible future, where they are doomed to die one by one.

Intriguing beginning to a series that is sure to find many teen fans.  Like a mix of science-fiction, horror, and one of those reality shows where different people are forced together to try and survive.  Fun and suspenseful.  Rated 16 and up.

horror, science fiction, book review, manga
