Mouse Guard: Fall 1152

David Petersen

The premise of this beautifully wrought graphic novel is that mice belong to a highly intelligent society, but are too small to successfully interact with other civilizations, so have to fend for themselves in tiny villages in the woods. An elite group of warrior mice protect those in need, and look out for the best interests of everyone. This volume is about what happens when one of the guards decides he doesn’t like the current system, and that he would make an excellent tyrant. This gorgeous graphic novel will appeal to anyone who likes Redwall, but due to violence is probably best for upper elementary and above.
