I read this for Puget Sound Council and liked it okay, but not as much as you did. I thought it ran into one of the big challenges for road-trip books: keeping the narrative cohesive and the momentum going, rather than dissoving into episodic bumping along.
But I did end up feeling a lot of empathy for the character--she really grew on me. I liked it better after I'd finished it than as I was reading it. Your review is prodding me to write my own long-overdue one for PSC!
