Former Vogue editor exposes the truth about thin models. I was thinking about how to stigmatize this, like we have with smoking, so that less of it occurs. To me, human beings seem to be eternal adolescents: if you want to influence a group of them, the best way to do it is through public shaming.
However, the other extreme is already stigmatized, and because of the unhealthy food we are sold, is trending ever higher.
How do we fight this? How do we fight this sick manipulation of our aesthetics? To me, it is the same problem no matter the subject. Rich/poor, obese/anorexic, conservative/liberal....whatever. It's a power dynamic, a way of exercising power by the use of extremes (and public shaming). It's a war on all fronts for the economic domination of our minds.
I want to attack all these problems, but I honestly don't even know where to start.
