my personal favourite season for the NHL dynamic is definitely season 1. You see the struggles between all points of the triangle and how they interact with each other, and how 1/3'rds relationships (or lack there of) with the other 3rd affected them. (Did that make sense? lol) Since then I don't think they've given the relationship between the three enough credit. Not to Haley being the real catalyst for the boys beoming brothers, instead focusing stronger on the basketball angle, and then I hated the way it seemed NH were too wrapped up in each other to be there for Lucas when Keith died. I'll always be sad we didn't see them in college, but tbh that would just be my perfect version of OTH lol NHJL all living together, no one else around apart from the occasional stop in lol I would love love love to see Lucas coming to NH about advice on being a young parent, or even regailing Peyton with tales of how NH coped when Jamie was a baby, and the admiration he felt toward them for it. Hopefully they'll just continue to really soldify themselves as a family, a visit from grandparents Scott would be love! I know it's not the most popular opinion in the fandom but I'd just love to see that despite the close knit group, they just have a stronger, more special connection because they're a family. One thing that bugs me on the show these days is HL will often get put on the back burner for brother bonding, and Haley playing go between between the girls. I love LN interaction, but I love LH interaction pretty much more than anything! Seems to be picking up a bit so yay!

I to have always loved the triangle between the brothers and haley, I think largely because it has never been a true romantic triangle and in the end there was never a winner and a loser. I really loved Haley's struggle in season one between her friendship for Lucas and her growing feelings for Nathan, as well as the boys being willing to at least give each other a chance because neither wanted to disappoint Haley. I have always been disappointed that the show seems to forget Haley's part in the early bonding between the brothers and that Basketball was just a common interest they shared. I liked the beginning of season 3 with the strong bond b/w LH but like you said I think the show got lost in the romantic relationships and forgot about the dynamic friendships that had already built.
That is one of the things that has disappointed me most about this season, the fact that we have only had a hand full of HL scenes. Even the brother bonding is way down this season and I'm someone who prefers L with NH(together or apart)then in any romantic pairing.
Finally(sorry for such a long reply, I'm quite bored to)I would love to see the college years between them. Season 5 had such potential at first imo with the possibility of flashbacks and as a way to quickly show how the characters evolved but sadly I again I think the writers lost that dynamic after the writers strike.

Yeah, i hoped for more flashbacks too, but I suppose they got to a point where they just wnated to move on with the show as if it were new and not have to keep filling in the blanks.
I'm definitely with you on prefering L with N or H over any romantic pairing, personally I just wish he would man up to his man whorish ways and stop trying to commit when hes just not cut out for it at this time in his life lol

Well, i'm thinking, the boy is 22 - TWENTY TWO! - he has plenty of time to be a playboy and still settle down and a very respectable age!
