So, I changed my mind. I'm not gonna go for a master's degree in economy after the army. I mean, ok, I still might, but I don't think so. I want to do popular culture studies. I love, love, love popular culture. In the way virologists love the Ebola virus, I imagine. But that's beside the point.

It wasn't even my idea. My father mentioned it at some point, after I was talking (well, writing) about pop culture and apparently seemed to do it with more zest than one would normally ascribe to pop culture write-ups. I never seriously considered it up until that point, but then it suddenly hit me. I totally want to do that. And I'm in luck, too. Belgrade University opened up graduate studies on popular culture a couple years back. Which is neat. You need to have a degree in anything humanities-related to enroll. Which is not neat. I'm going there tomorrow to see if I can do something, anything, to sidestep that requirement. I don't imagine they see much in the way of computer science engineers looking to get a master's degree in popular culture anthropology.

I've been poking my nose around the net. Looking for pop culture academic resources and stuff. Turns out, I have no idea if there are any decent graduate pop culture courses out there, in the States or UK. I know there are, there have to be, but simple Google search provides no useful info at all. Anyone got any pointers?

In other news, I've just heard of Civet. Femme Fatale Punk Rock. They indeed rock. And punk. At the same time.
