so tonight we are deciding where to eat, either pappados (his choice) or luna de noche
(gods gift to food, of course, my choice :) ) and i was pretty set on luna de noche. so we drive all the way down preston and make it right before the crowd (for those who have never been, their portobello negra is to DIE for, and the restaurant is written up as "best in dallas" and "best in the metroplex" and all this good stuff in local magazines so its always really crowded) and we get a cute little table by the window where a dad, daughter who is only about two years old, and wife are sitting. the man looks over and starts asking us how old we are and starts telling us about his daughter. he asked where i was going to college and was really interested in asking what we were ordering (even though they were already done eating). as he was getting ready to leave he said "well, im a hair dresser down the street and i made a wig for a woman who has cancer. after she paid me for the wig she tipped me and told me to take my family to dinner." he paused and smiled really big, "and she gave me enough money to buy dinner for this entire room so tonight, im treating you two. i just hope someday when you see two people out to dinner who are 18 and probably low on money you remember this, i can only hope someone does this someday for my daughter" and as the waiter walked by the man asked for our check. how amazing is that? pure kindness. i think his name was bobby? i didnt even catch his wifes name. i was in shock. although ive always truly believed humanity in general was kind hearted, tonight i witnessed a truly amazing person.
and as if the night couldnt get any better, i got to see fever pitch,
which is only the cutest movie in the world. i love baseball so much, and just adding jimmy fallon with a cute romantic story line, jeez, it just won me over.
