Tunica, Clarksdale and Memphis

We are back from our gambling & blues jaunt to the Mississippi Delta. The gambling wasn't so great, I lost *big surprise* Random observations .....

The Paula Deen buffet(s) at Harrahs casino in Tunica, MS was AMAZING! Me and Doc ate there 4 times! I ate a little bit of a lot of things ... but Doc ate more than I have EVER seen him eat. The best: Fried chicken, cheese biscuits, speckled butter beans, mac and cheese, and the prime rib. ALL were among the best I have ever eaten, anywhere, any time. And the gooey butter cake? OH MY GAWD! YUMMIE! There were lots of delicious vegetables (green beans, turnip greens, etc) and I really enjoyed our meals there. Things were fresh and put out in rather small batches, so the food was refreshed quite frequently.

Clarksdale, MS. The famous Crossroads, where Robert Johnson is rumored to have sold his soul to the devil for his musical talent. AMAZING to see ..like a blast from the past. Really indescribable. We had a early lunch at the Ground Zero Blues club (Doc's first "plate lunch"!), toured the museum and shops and also met some very interesting characters!

Memphis, TN. We ate an early dinner at The Neeley's BBQ. Walked along Beale and saw the Peabody Ducks. We took some pics of the Mississippi, went to a Piggly Wiggly and the Nike Clearance Center and we really enjoyed this beautiful day.

Now it is back to work. Ho Hum.
