Wow! I am gonna say something nice about Ted Haggard!
I just watched Ted Haggard and his family on the Oprah Winfrey show. This is a man who is clearly back from sailing up and down certain rivers in Egypt.....I thought he really had something worth listening to - and ya'll know that the amount of time I spend listening to the evangelical christians is nominal.
He admitted and accepted that he is not a total heterosexual. He accepted that part of himself. He apologized for his actions and for his dishonesty, but NOT for that part of him that has homosexual attachments and fantasies. He admitted he had been a hypocrite. He also said that he confessed to his wife years ago that he had homosexual tendencies.
He said prefers to self-identify as a heterosexual with complications!
He said that he didn't think homosexuality was wrong, but that breaking marriage vows was wrong and lying about who you are is wrong.
