#3 - that's only because I only learn the languages I want to learn :) If somebody made me learn French I would prefer to work in a quarry. For 100 years.
When I was in college in '79, it was common to put up silly notices on our dorm room doors. Mine said I could tutor in Basque, Sanskrit, Gaelic, Flemish and sign language. (I actually did know sign language, but not the others). What was amazing to me is that a large number of people didn't know the other four were real languages, and no one I talked to knew that Flemish was spoken in Flanders, which is part of Belgium.
You must have had really interesting time when you were a student :) I knew Gaelic was a language! One of my favorite TV characters spoke it! The other ones, I didn’t know LOL I thought Sanskrit was a way for writing! And I know sign language too.
