Monday all over again
I've been meaning to post for weeks--took pictures two weeks ago Wednesday when we drove to Demelza's riding practice to show how amazing green the hills were. Didn't post. Thought up several clever things to say. Didn't post.
So this one's a bit of a boast.
I've started writing in Lewis fic, and posted my fourth one on Saturday--at, I think, one pm? It has, as of now, 9am on Monday, 209 hits and 31 kudos. I am floored, absolutely gob-smacked. I've never had a story get that many hits and kudos in such a short time. I was amazed at how quickly the hits and kudos climbed on the previous Lewis fic, which was posted on Jan. 16th, but This is Life with You in It blew that out of the water (and it's slightly longer). Thank you, thank you, Lewis fans! You made my weekend!
Cause it was a really crazy weekend--although Saturday turned out to be much nicer than I'd anticipated. I was supposed to have lunch with one of D's friends and her mother, which we did, but I had to leave early to pick up my mom to take her to a funeral. My friend paid for lunch! Happy Birthday to me a week early. Then, got mom to the funeral and used the free hour to zip home, chat with an old friend on the phone and post the aforementioned fic. Back to pick up mom and Demelza (her friend conveniently lives near the church) and groceries.
We ended the first day of my 11 day staycation with a viewing of Back to the Future, which Demelza had never seen. She started out a bit bored, but by the end, she yelled at the screen--"George, kiss her!" at the school dance when Marty gets his parents back together. That is a really well written movie--everything is set up at the beginning and pays off perfectly through the movie. I loved seeing it again!
Many things to do today, but because I am on vacation from work, I'm hoping to post more this week!
