Babies and preemies, oh my
a few weeks ago, it was National Prematurity day--you didn't celebrate that holiday? lol, we only learned about it in late October in our Intensive care nursery. I do vaguely remember there being one last year, too--
What do you get someone for Nat. Preemie day? Why, baby socks! There were donations of baby socks and then they were hung jauntily around the hospital.
(I liked that the signs were in different languages--this one says, in French, "One baby in ten is premature, throughout the world." The Asian woman is one of our Neonatalogists.)
The nurse is one of my former nursing students and now co-worker, and I cared for the baby last night!He's bigger than that now.
This baby is on body cooling for traumatic brain injury-- I cared for one very similar this weekend.
