Somehow this poem never got entered into my archive here. Written at an RS Choir event in 2012, I finally managed to remember to look for it in my email and copied it here “for posterity.” Enjoy.
Changes
I.
Slow, slow, slow
the breath of life moves within me
carrying me on the tide of growth
like Mother's womb
both water and air
a sea of change surrounds me
II.
Spritely, laughing, rippling
new growth moves within me
rushing down a river of changes
like playful otters
truth and trickery
surprise me with newness 'round every bend
III.
Towering, rushing, pouring
sudden change sweeps through and over me
drowning my resistance
like a tsunami, a wall of action
sweeping away what was
laying bare the bones, the heart, and the sea floor of my life
