In case it wasn't already apparent to you, I'm the type that has an eye to the sky whenever it is within view.
Today I had a sighting of a
horseshoe vortex! They are supposedly rare so I feel fortunate for spotting one.
I was unfortunate in that I was driving down the highway when it caught my eye, so my photographs are very poor (you shouldn't really be composing a photograph and driving, honestly).
Today was a partly cloudy day, in the 30s and with a wind advisory. The wind advisory part gives the whole thing some credence in my mind.
My windshield was in focus instead of the sky. But you can see the little horseshoe shape at the bottom of the photo? That is what I'm talking about, only it looks cooler in person-and it helps if you're a little sky-obsessed and find these things fascinating.
Better focus, but it was starting to break up a little bit here.

Merry Christmas!
