"All of a sudden I was in a house surrounded by people who I would never have thought I would be hanging out with and that I secretly think have huge sticks up their butts… mingling and laughing, chatting about future goals and enlightening them on the law of attraction, and dance parties, and random facts I somehow contain. Wait a second, am I the cool one now? You really think it’s interesting that I _____________(insert random thing I do that is lame)_______. Funny, I bet you use to make fun of me in high school…. And now oh how the tables have turned. Most of you are still working at that place where it use to be really cool to work when you went to school…. But it’s not really all that cool now that your availability has changed to FULL TIME WORKER…. not really doing anything else with your lives, becoming just another Las Vegas bumb with an interesting taste. Yea, that was me in you math class four years ago, never thought that huh??A certain event recently made me realize something, no matter what….. I will always be a huge loser who embraces it. And never ever be too good for anyone!"
My best friend Steph is my writing hero. I met her in my senior year creative writing class, and with every slam she's written or poetry created, she steals my heart! Maybe because of her beautiful personality or every life experience she's been through, she's an amazing writer whom I look up to. I know her very well and have for quite some time now. She's grown so much as a person and a writer with every new piece she has. It comes natural to her because she doesn't schedule a time to sit down and write, she writes what she feels when she feels it and will say what she means through her empowering words. I look up to her for those reasons exactly, and to be able to call this amazing writer [her] a close friend of mine is an honor. She will go far with her life, through any output she chooses, whether it be writing, hair, design or anything else that may come her way.
I wish I could find a slam of hers right now to share, it's ridiculously amazing.
