Every night, when the sky turned dark and the moon rose up high for everyone to admire it, was horrible to him. Alois hated the night, it was so much worse than daytime. During daytime, he was surrounded by servants, Claude accompanied him everywhere, and maybe he would have a meeting or two. But everything was different when it was time for the moon to rise. So much different.

At night, Alois Trancy was totally and completely alone. Again. He was nothing more than a child, wrapped up in expensive sheets and nice clothes, but still a mere child. Nobody was by his side at that time, there was no one else on his bed but him. And that truth was much scarier than the existance of demons.

By the time he fell asleep, the feeling still remained, but he still managed to sleep. How? Repressing that feeling, Alois manages to focus on another thing that allows him to get to sleep: revenge. He thinks of Sebastian Michaelis, the demon that had caused his loneliness, the one who took Luka's life and left him alone. That hate becomes a channel through which he can repress the loneliness, and so he is able to make it through the night to live another day.

And then another lonely night.
